Everything that exists. I mean, surely there's only one answer to this question!

I'm really really glad we have Tomb. It's absolutely superb and has given me so much pleasure since it's recovery in 1992.I think I wore out my VHS copy, bought the original DVD and then the SE.It's a major addition to the Dr Who archive which helped to remove the stigma of the scarcity of Troughton stories.

It would be easy to find fault with Tomb, but...I'm not sure if there's an official definition of "classic" - although I might be persuaded to come up with one ! - but I'd have little hesitation in putting Tomb in that category:-)

I certainly agree with being glad that all ten War Games episodes exist! Plus glad Enemy exists as double Pat is always good!!
I'm also glad The Invasion (with the best animated episodes (possibly barring Power)) exists as I love that story.
Also glad that we have our Time Meddler as he is real fun!!

Everything that exists. I mean, surely there's only one answer to this question! Ditto! Especially all the clips from now missing eps that somehow, despite all the odds, managed to survive.

Whilst I am happy what exists does exist, I do have a great fondness for The Pilot Episode, especially the unedited Pilot recording with the numerous takes released on the DVD. It's an amazing historical piece of television. One that I really enjoy watching. The fact that is does survive is a miracle itself.

I was quite baffled the first time I pressed "Play all" on the DVD! I had seen the Unearthly VHS, and something felt a little off at first, and then we got to Susan's art project... Definitely glad it exists, though, seemingly against the odds. Really nice picture quality on the DVD as well. Better than the transmitted version as I recall!

I'm grateful that we have the off-air audio recordings of the missing episodes. Without those, there would be so many more questions, we'd have no animations, no recons, and of course The Tenth Planet and the 8mm clips would be much harder going...

Thinking about it I'm REALLY glad that we've got selfless people out there looking for missing episodes:-)

As well as all the audios and the bulk of Seasons 1,2 and 6? I'd say a large majority of Season 5 but, especially, a Season 6 tale in particular that would otherwise be overlooked in the list of really great titles: "The Seeds of Death". It's a superb story that is a lot more of the sum of its parts. I imagine it might be regarded as particularly "meh" had it been among the missing.

I know that I am reviving a necro-thread, but after having watched a few recons recently, I want to tip my turban to the people who taped the old stories off the air and who made the original recons. I got kind of bummed thinking about how I would feel about not having any idea how the stories I was watching both looked and sounded.
BTW, has anyone else done the following?
I have trained myself to imagine what likely happened between the stills in the recon based upon the dialogue, location, action, etc., and interpolate that between each telesnap. Thus, I almost feel like I am actually watching the original episode rather than a recon. I imagine that the telesnaps help stimulate the memories of those who were lucky enough to see the originals.

Again, everything that exists, right down to the audios and telesnaps! Power of the Daleks wouldn't have been one of my favourite stories otherwise! Also the fact every Pertwee episode exists in one form or another. More specifically, I'm glad Tomb, Mind Robber, Invasion, and Seeds of Death exist (bar Invasion 1 and 4), as they were the stories that solidified Troughton as my favourite Doctor. Glad most of Web and Enemy were recovered too.
