Clips from "A Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" and the whole of the "NME Poll Winners Concert" from 1965 are on YouTube. "The Hippodrome Show" was a co-production between Rediffusion in the UK and Van Bernard Productions in the USA. Two camera crews worked on the show at the same time, colour for the US and black and white for the UK. I think the black and white edition from 26 September 1966 is missing, but the colour version broadcast on CBS on 2 August 1966 still exists. The sequences featuring the Animals are on YouTube.

Sorry this has taken so long. I'm pretty sure that this was the clip of WGGOOTP that was shown. This isn't the same program, it's from the US and the quality is worse. It seems likely that the clip is from a US archive too. youtu.be/TpNWSW49IBM

Sorry, I can’t post a link because it turns out that clips from that edition of “The Hippodrome Show” aren’t on YouTube after all. Before I wrote the earlier post, I watched some colour clips of the Animals performing “We’ve Gotta Get Out of This Place” and “Inside Looking Out” on YouTube. I assumed these were from “The Hippodrome Show”, but I’ve found out since they’re from an edition of “The Ed Sullivan Show” broadcast on 06 February 1966.
As far as I can tell, the Animals only performed one song on the edition of “The Hippodrome Show” broadcast on 02 August 1966. It was “Squeeze Her, Tease Her”.

I think that this performance might be from an episode of “Shindig” broadcast on ABC TV in the USA on 14 October 1965.

TV Brain has the following The Animals television appearances as missing, these are the songs we know so far.
Can anyone please fill in the unknowns which will help to trace footage or audio for the missing episodes.
Also if there were other television appearances on other shows on these or other dates, it would be great to hear about it.

House of the Rising Sun was the first record I ever bought ( 6 shillings from South Harrow market) and remains one of my favourite songs all these years later. I believe it was at that point the longest single to reach number 1. I remember being really irritated that the Beeb faded it out on TOTP even when it was at the top of the chart.

6/7/64 The Beat Room (rec 2/7) - The House Of The Rising Sun / Dimples 13/7/64 The Beat Room (9/7) - I’m Mad Again 20/7/64 The Beat Room (rec 16/7) - The House Of The Rising Sun 21/9/64 The Beat Room (rec.17/9) - I’m Crying / Road Runner 11/2/65 Gadzooks - House Of The Rising Sun (mime) / Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (live) 3/4/65 Gadzooks - C.C. Rider (live) / Bring It On Home To Me (mime) 19/7/65 Gadzooks - Work Song / We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place (both live)
Given that other than what Peter Checksfield has posted appears lost/wiped etc… (with the exception of some audio off airs of RSG and others), the thing I’d really like to see is The World Of The Animals, directed by Richard Morduant for Luisa Films which I believe was filmed during 1966 in Poland, France and the USA. Clips from this have been shown (for instance in the Channel 4 My Generation / Without Walls series), famously there’s a clip of the band arguing in a hotel room on the verge of splitting up although in fairness the band seems to have spent a lot of their time arguing rather than writing songs ! As far as I know, the BFI has a “restricted access” copy of this film, identifier 4055 dated 1964 but actually filmed at least a year to 18 months later. It should be available on blu-ray. Immediately. Why can't it be released ?

Thank you to all who have replied. I especially liked the New Animals and Eric Burdon's Psychedelic phase, he seemed to really dig that scene man!
