I'm too bored by it all to even notice the poor sound mix.

The latest issue of DWM promises a 'Massive Revelation' in its preview of the episode 'Face the Raven'. Dare I hope that it might be a clip from a hitherto-believed-missing episode?. OK so I'm almost certainly clutching at straws, but I'm just trying to cheer myself up after the Web 3 situation and the Underwater Menace DVD that seems to have failed to live up to some peoples' expectations! Nah, the revelation is that the aliens have been recording B&W Doctor Who from space and are now selling complete series 1-6 box sets (with generous extras)!

The old show was mixed for tiny speakers in buzzy TV sets, it had to have clear sound. Most new stuff seems to be five channels with too high a level of music and sound effects, and the actors don't speak up now they've got the mikes stuck to them half the time.

I am one of those people! But it still gives me a warm feeling.UM is a curio and the review in the latest DWM seems to hit the nail on the head.It was only meant to be a piece of fluff viewed once and then forgotten. It served it's purpose and what survives is more than enough!

Is Face the Raven missing already? Gosh! Massive revelation? Obvious ain't it..... FACE..... the remaining episodes of the Faceless One have found! No. Seriously. I suspect it is more a hidden clue for future episodes. We know River Song returns at Christmas. My guess is that with Clara leaving the series the revelation may have to do with the Doctor's relationship with Clara - does she regenerate as River Song? But revelations about Missing Episodes - No. I doubt it. Still, a bit of fun to speculate, Now if Face of the Raven is set in Nigeria....

Here we are again. Thanks for the Christmas spoiler. I had avoided the news about River completely. Why do people think that we all want to know everything?

Alan (Still grumpy) This is a valid complaint - please can we have NO MORE SPOILERS ABOUT UNTRANSMITTED EPISODES. There are still lots of people who DO NOT WANT SPOILERS. Please respect that.

I'm convinced that the revelation will be (spoiler alert!) that "Doctor" is "Rot Cod" backwards, a clear reference to our hero's championing of the Fish People's rebellion in "Underwater Menace" and the denial of food supplies to the Atlantis folks. If it is NOT this, then it would be hard to imagine anything more revelatory!

Thank you, Alan and Rob. I used to love getting spoilers, but now I go out of my way to avoid them. <sarcasm> <spoileralert> The New Years' Day special will be a cartoon musical where The Doctor tries to stop The Master from conquering Earth by hypnotising everyone with mind-numbing, brain-draining pop music from overly sexulised pre-teens, teens, and young adults who work for creepy older adults at allegedly kid-friendly media conglomerates. The plot twist is that there is no DW New Years' special and it only seems that pop music is part of a plot from The Master. </spoileralert> </sarcasm> Sorry - for some reason, I found that irresistible.

Unless I'm being particularly thick, I didn't see any revelations in "Face The Raven", massive or otherwise.

Unless I'm being particularly thick, I didn't see any revelations in "Face The Raven", massive or otherwise. Nor did I, Andy. Then again, it sent me to sleep so perhaps the massive revelation was that it proved to be massively overrated.
