Just had an email from the BBC.. They've discovered William Hartnell's DID!!! Apologies if this should be on the radio section but I believe many on here would be interested. I can't believe I'm listening to it, amazing find! www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p009y3yj

What an excellent find! I wonder where it came from?
I remember suggesting to Michael Stevens (when he was still looking after the DW range at AudioGO) that it might be an idea to get Desert Island Discs to put out an on-air plea to see if anyone had a recording of Hartnell's edition to tie in with the 50th anniversary. I wonder if they ever did it?

Hi everyone,
I've been speaking with DID over many months about this episode. I was heartbroken it was lost and was asking about the possibility of getting a copy of the transcript.
Today, out of the blue an email arrived:
I asked about its discovery and got another email:
So there you go,

The track listing and a transcript of the interview were published in the Doctor Who Summer Special 1994. Here's the final page, which picks up around the point of the interview where the recording stops.

What a shame its disappeared down. Was directed to it via Facebook and was looking froward to hearing it as anything newly fount of William Hartnell outside the acting is great. Hope it reappears
