Just bouncing this up the thread - I just found 13 mins of Swap Shop TX 31/1/81 on a Philips tape. Mat Irvine talks us through some of the models for the Dr Who serial "Warriors' Gate" and goes over the latest swaps with Noel Edmonds.

Yes it's Parkinson, BBC1, Saturday 2nd December 1978. Olivia Newton-John was on it too. Thanks.

Hi Found a very short (2min) extract of Dame Edna singing "Every Mother Wants A Boy Like Elton" in a Parkinson-like studio. I would imagine it's from late 1978 but can't find reference to the two of them appearing on any show around that time. Anyone have an idea where it might be from? Thanks Image here

I assume this series was all kept? Just come across a recording of the first episode, TX 8/12/79.
Thanks

Yes Chris mentioned it was still working. David Niven's World was made by Anglia in I think 1976. It's only a 10 minute extract I have, nothing exciting, just wondered whether the series survives.

Hi
Anyone know if these exist? The lostshows website seems to be login-only now.

I recently saw some 1991 recordings on Philips, I couldn't believe my eyes!

Just to let people know, I've found, from an off-air UMatic recording, an almost-complete edition of Clapperboard, missing just the opening titles and the first maybe 10 seconds of Chris Kelly's introduction. TX 02/01/78, it was essentially the highlights of their 1977 shows, most of which also appear to be missing.
It includes excerpts from the following: Nickelodeon - Peter Bogdanovich interview Silver Streak - Arthur Hiller interview Gulliver's Travels - Michael Stringer interview The Spy Who Loved Me - Roger Moore & Cubby Broccoli interviews A Bridge Too Far - Richard Attenborough interview Disney - Wolfgang Reitherman interview

Hi all
Is there a list online anywhere of the notable shows currently missing due to the TVS/Disney problem? I know Fraggle Rock and CATS Eyes are affected, but not sure what else?
Thanks

Can you say what you have found so far? From the Philips stuff, since I re-started 10 days ago, there's: Part of a missing Song For Europe show which Gordon Roxburgh will be telling people about on his Eurovision FB page. A 10min missing Swap Shop clip, very interesting, which I'll talk about at some point. Loads of 70s adverts! Intros for a few series 1 Blake's 7 episodes (they started with voiceover recaps). An unsyphered Hitch Hikers part 1 which included the Dr Who titles in the 'O' until they changed the tunnel effect (that may exist, not sure) A couple of studio recordings of The Borgias. I assume all the ATV Muppet broadcasts exist?

Don't worry I always check the entire contents of every tape.

Just to let people know this project is back on after a gap of a year or so. Only around 15% of the way into the collection (which is mostly Ian's but there are tapes from other sources too). Lots of nice bits & bobs found already, probably already enough for a Missing Believed Wiped session if it's a bad year for film recoveries. Hopefully it will be a good year so nobody will be interested. Keep your eyes on the TV Museum youtube channel as I'll be send the odd snippet that way

As I said, most of Ian's early recordings (from 76-79) have cartoons at the end. Some BBC tapes do have nice stuff at the end, but most just go to black. I just gave the TV Museum a junction between Shoestring and the News in 1980.
Anyway that's all for now until I fit the new belts to the machine. Waiting to find out whether or not that's something I can do myself, I suspect not!
