Ah, that's interesting. The JCBs and Streetband are the clips I've seen most frequently so I always assumed that the "one episode" was the one at Wessex. Good to know there's another.

I assume Brian means just this forum rather than his entire PC.
Looks like something has happened to the forum software. If you click Profile (top of page under the banner), then modify profile and then scroll to the bottom, there is an option to change the date format. It claims: Choose which format you wish to have dates displayed in. You can also choose to have the day displayed before the month for those British blokes out there. However, I can't see any such option.

how come the board censor let your post through without censoring it ? ;D I wondered that too. I've just done a quick test and it's because of the row of dots immediately in front. with dots: .....girl thingy Cat Willum. without: girl thingy Cat Willum

I posted the following on M-club earlier this year: What remains of the original 16mm film sequences for Out of Town is now held in the South West Film and Television Archive in Plymouth. They also have audio tape recordings of many of Jack’s “shed” link material and film commentaries. The rights for these are held by the Hargreaves family.
They have embarked on a project to match up the tapes to the films with a view to a possible future DVD release. A sample of what they have achieved so far - an exploding bait box demonstrated off the coast of Littlehampton in the 1970s - can be seen at vimeo.com/tag:swfta I've learnt this week that the SWFTA have turned up some copies of Jack's B&W programmes. I've no idea what format they are in. ~iw

If you click the Members List link you can sort all members' names either alphabetically or by registration date. If you can spot your original username then you can use the Forgot Password link on the login page to have your password emailed to you.
Alternatively, click on Register and in the first line of registration terms is a link to email the board administrator, (although if you haven't got your original username I'm not sure what they could do for you).
Or you could just register again.

Just an update to say that my copy arrived today and looks like being a facinating read.

Anthony,
Excellent news, and a very interesting website.
Re: "It was a legal requirement to deposit cut material (from movies/TV) with the Censorship Board."
That's an interesting twist, that it was required to archive material NOT broadcast. I'd love to see a full list of everything they hold under that law.

This has been identified, after some dogged detective work, on another forum.
For the record, it was a TVS produced Dramarama play: "Young Person's Guide to Going Backwards" starring Charlotte Cornwell and John Albasiny. Tx 29/4/85.
There's a very full description over on the m-club.

Thanks.
I left it too long before booking tickets for the event and missed out. I haven't made the same mistake with the book!

I had only seen the odd clip appear from Simon Dee.Agreed, any Dee material, including ITV material seems to be quite rare indeed.Looking at the Kal powered Lostshows.com database, which states 149 out of 151 are missing, so now know at least two episodes survive from "Dee Time".A very poor survival rate Don't forget Dee Time was a live broadcast. It's not quite true to say it has a poor survival rate or that the shows are missing as they were never recorded in the first place. It's a shame that there is so little to watch today but really it's surprising that there is anything at all. ~iw

There are also clips in the Meridian nostalgia programme Southern Gold, including the opening seconds of Jack’s 1969 programme Country Visit.
Dream Factory contains a complete original colour Out Of Town whose two filmed segments, “mole catching” and “stagecoach”, both turn up again in the later rehashed DVDs. It’s interesting to compare the different commentaries.

Say what you will, The countryside is still The only place where I could settle down Troubles there are so much rarer Out of town
Ah, happy memories. The show was 50% indoors, with Jack talking in his ‘shed’, and 50% outdoor countryside scenes filmed by Stan Brehaut. I’d guess there’s a chance that the films still survive somewhere but I doubt much, if anything, survives of the studio sections. The rare clips I’ve seen from b/w episodes have all been filmed sequences.
Even the colour episodes that are available on DVD aren’t the original broadcast programmes. Jack recorded new studio segments to go around the film clips (in Meonstoke village hall according to Wikipedia!)
