Im sure they did listen but they would of had to put captions over the top because if they ddidnt the shows would get heavily bootlegged which would make the artist pissed off more with the BBC I take it You aint seen the amount of TOTP2 on youtube? Your point being that if they didn't add the stupid captions (with useless info anyway) people would record them. Sounds of....... didn't use captions or voiceovers and people STILL taped the series. TOTP2 didn't show that much in terms of unseen footage really, most of it had already been seen on the UK Gold re-runs sounds of the 60's 70's & 80's and such like years before TOTP2 started. And now on UKG2 you can see it all AGAIN. youtube doesnt really count as bootlegging because of the crap quality of the clips. As a bootlegg collector myself when getting or compiling Top of the Pops performances then dvds tend to not contain Top of the Pops 2 clips mainly because people prefer to have it looking as original as possible. But besides that im still sure the captions would be added because of stress from the record companies.

To be honest i can see why this was axed. It must have had low ratings. Im sure that the public wont be interested in archive material like the rest of us. There more interested in Big Brother and Crap like that

I know that some of the Jams Performances have been released on the Complete Jam. does that count? also why is it that the OGWT Comps dont contain complete sessions?
