I wonder how Crown Court is doing in the ratings on TP TV now ie. if they can continue to show it? Originally a popular show in the 1970s, it was shown between Wednesday and Friday afternoons, with of course the jury being members of the viewing public rather than actors. The verdict on Friday had the extra excitement of not being fully scripted and depended on what the jury had made of the case. I am sure that at least some of its audience were kids absconding from school LOL I confess, I was!

Sad to hear so little of the early series survive. No doubt like many of us on here How was a TV staple for me in the late 60’s & 70’s.

I'm amazed they didn't pull the plug years ago. It's been very aptly named for years. As to them being a nice bunch, well the same guys are around on other places. (And I'm not so sure about that moderator who reset passwords in order to read private conversations.) Ah well, it certainly seems like it’s closed down. And you are quite right, resetting passwords to read private conversations is totally unacceptable and probably a breach of data protection. I wouldn’t be happy if it was done to me either.

Oh that’s a relief, I thought I had joined Mr Wels on the naughty step, oh irony of ironies, although like him I had absolutely no idea why. I have tried contacting Mr Wolf a couple of times with no reply so far. It’s been down a while…. Possibly Mr Wolf has packed it in due to decreasing traffic, and it is obviously costing Mr Wolf money to host it. I wouldn’t be surprised. Sad though as they seemed a genuinely nice bunch.

Wasn’t someone of this parish having a go at colourising IOTD1? Mind you, the dinosaurs were so unbelievably bad, the whole serial is crying out for a CGI makeover IMHO. I think I’ll get my coat……

Given how out of touch the show was with the grimmer iteration of Batman, it;s a blessing that it did come out! Remember at the time, a lot of, shall we say, the more “purist” for want of a better word, super hero fans were very upset with the 60’s version of Batman as they, quite rightly, perceived that it was taking the mick!

My primitive edit with an acetate mix of the song dubbed on, is the most watched YouTube version and has been shown (a clip of) on BBC4?! Lazy buggers. The one in the documentary was not my version thank God..!! 🤣 Don’t be so modest, you did a cracking job considering what you had to work with!

Along with Weekend World possibly the best tv theme ever.

I wasn't sure if that was appreciated here because technically, it's a copyright grey area. But yes, that was the list that made me go, "with so many audio recordings, is there really no tape reel that covers this mute material"? Good point, sometimes you’ve just got to highlight the existence of material like this.

Has anything been heard about this? I am fascinated that it was on a 'computer tape' how does that work? A technical explanation please. Probably reused 1/2” computer tape wound on to 5” reel to reel spools. I believe computer tape, although apparently of lower grade, was cheaper and could give acceptable results for early home video. Tapes were extremely expensive back then.

Another wee bit of wiped - it's that 'Blue Peter for the pensioners' show again, Years Ahead featuring that most erst of erstwhiles Robert Dougall. How so? Is he really more erstwhile than anything else on the list? Well, as a child of the 60’s I would say that of course he was! 😉
