That one slipped out quietly -the first I'd heard of it (I only knew of the region 1 set)! A good price and nice that it has a Burke's Law episode as an extra (a series I remember watching back in the '60s but not something I'd want more than one episode of as an example - so that sorts that out! ) It seems odd for Renown to be issuing a U.S. series, even down to the detail of the try-out.I admit my first thought was "public domain"! It worth comparing the two covers for Region 1 and 2. Honey West has already been released in region 2. Delta released it some time ago. I just wish someone would release season 2 of Burke's Law, Amos Burke - Secret Agent, and the Burke's Law remake that they did that lasted one season.

I've heard of some Americans importing R2 copies of The Magic Roundabout as the American verison was redubbed. So was the British one! (Sorry,Richard,I couldn't resist...). I'm still trying to find out if the Eric Thompson live-action Babars retained the UK soundtrack. They came out on video in the U.S. I meant the DVD of the film rather than the TV series, unless that had an American redub.

The early days of Sky TV and other Satellite channels in the UK were a good place to watch classic US TV shows. Anyone remember a channel called Lifestyle with a butterfly logo ? I remember watching a comedy called "The Mothers In Law" starring Eve Arden (who later played the principle in Grease) on that channel. While Sky One showed things like "The Lucy Show", "Here's Lucy", "The Brady Bunch", "Three's Company" etc. The Comedy Channel showed some even more rare US shows from the 60's. BSB's Galaxy channel had more contempary and early 70's/80's shows like "The Facts of Life", "Growing Pains", "Maude", "Free Spirit" etc. The original Paramount channel showed "Bosom Buddies" with Tom Hanks. Looking back I think I did watch a lot of US TV shows when I was much younger.

I'm actually surprised the a Best of Mr.Ed (yes, the talking horse) TV series has come out on DVD in the UK.Has the series been aired here? One of my earliest TV memories is of The Patty Duke show.I had trouble working out if she was British or American.("Cousins.They're identical cousins.").

Channel 4 used to show a lot of American oldies in it's early years.
I Love Lucy, Most of the Irwin Allen shows, The Munsters, Get Smart, Batman, Bewitched, I Dream Of Jeanie, among others.

I remember Paramount Comedy used to often show oldies during the day, so when I was between jobs I would catch up with Soap being shown like the American Daytime soaps is was spoofing.
Taxi & Cheers were others I remember being on in the day.

That's similar to my vague memories of this show in London at that time I should've checked my Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy (which is very good).144 episodes broadcast in the U.S.In the UK,26 episodes shown between July 1964 and July 1965 on ITV "various dates and times".C4 showed 78 between 1987 and 1989.

I have got all the Mr. ED DVDs that were released. However sadly the last season has not made it to DVD yet.

Appropriate to mention here that BFI Southbank is holding a major event devoted to Sgt Bilko in August.
