Yep. Jacket looks a little Pertwee-esque to me Paul. All will be revealed after Christmas!

Just a quick correction of the OP - Pertwee did indeed meet the Ice Warriors, twice in fact for the two Peladon Stories. Always a shame to me he didn't encounter the Cybermen - presumably as The Invasion was about as Third Doctor a Cybertale as one could expect and apparently no suitable alternative was developed (tho apparently a Doomsday-esque Dalek versus Cybermen story was considered for Pertwee). There's always the Raston / Cybermen scene from The Five Doctors for Pertwee but of course that hardly counts. Anyway -
Absolutely agree with the general consensus that New Who is a pale shadow of the best Classic Who. Certainly I prefer most New Who to the insipid McCoy era- A note I like McCoy but as he himself observed it was always rushed, never given time or money for proper development. And don't even get me started on the Casio keyboard constant din of synthesizer noise every second of every show - getting a headache thinking about it! To me truly great Who was nonexistent after the first Peter Davison season. And I personally much preferred RTDs era to Moffats. I do think Matt Smith is phenomenal, and makes it all seem far better than it is. The Flesh and Stone/Time of Angels IMO is excellent, for example, and some good tales here and there but it just feels so rushed for the most part, you can't stop and catch your breath and get to know the characters because the story is over before you've had time to appreciate what is actually going on. Cold War for example - the really good bits - the Russians finding the creature in Ice, contemplating what it is and what it means - that episode was skipped entirely! And the Silurian Spaceship -surely that revelation alone would have been the cliffhanger reveal for Episode one of Classic Who after the Doctor and friends landing, exploring and discovering all sorts of bizarre clues leading up to it! Just so much potential that is wasted IMO in the name of "modern audiences don't have the patience for slow builds" - well then at least put the extended version on the DVDs for the rest of us! :-)
NuWho is nearly as rushed as McCoy era Who, albeit pretty to look at as it at least looks and feels rich, even if there's little underneath the shiny surface. Perhaps that's more a reflection of the world in general these days. I can't remember the last time anything was sufficiently resolved in NuWho that I felt I had witnessed something clever or truly astonishing. Certainly the dialogue never fails to point out how cleverly it all was resolved, but as a viewer? Little satisfying, little wonder, just a wave of the Sonic Wand and a line of dues babblia to explain why the omnipotent threat we were told (rarely shown) was so scary and dangerous the first half of the story suddenly disappeared without a trace a nary any contribution from the Doc apart from said SonicWand. (And again, I love the Sonic, just not as a solution to every problem 3 minutes before the episode ends).
I used to fantasize about traveling with the Doctor. Perhaps I'm just an adult now - but no, watching Web of Fear and Enemy of the World I felt the wonder and thrill of being scared and imagined being trapped in the Underground and felt the fear of a world dictator that no one seemed to want to go up against because of the underhanded power he ruthlessly wielded and all those things NuWho rarely delivers. The only things NuWho makes me think about it question is the things that I wished they would have done or shown and how little sense such and such explanation made.
I absolutely agree with the poster who said more 2 parters! I was appalled when they announced Series 7 would do away with them. What? It's like they wrote down the few things NuWho was doing well and said "No, we're not having it!" No character development, no sense of drama or threat or spending any time in the environment. I used to wonder how long adventures actually took from the Doctor and especially companions point of view. Now I don't even ponder such things because NuWho is over so fast and it consistently fails to make me think about anything. So unlike Classic Who.
I don't want to go on bashing my favorite series. But there's got to be a way to put the magic back in. And mix it up. Balance the eye candy with bedrock story telling and real threats and dilemmas (just not Twins!). :-) Classic Who had enough of a varied palette that even if you didn't like this episode that your friend did, and you both loved it as a whole. Show us new things, make us question, make us feel and most of all, make us think!

I had a dream watching PETER CAPALDI's last DOCTOR WHO episode and regenerating into (I can't say the actress's name because she promise me not to announce it yet.) We all have wait to till the day comes.

I think Peter Capaldi is a very good choice as a Doctor. I saw him in the Thick of It and he steals every scene. I also liked him in the Fires of Pompeii. It's nice that he is doing a Colin Baker. (Just a pity he didn't shoot David Tennant)
With regards to the new series, I think it has progressed really well. Christopher Eccleston kicked off the new series really well portarying a Doctor based more on personallity then the wacky costumes. Looking back on his era, I find him more brasher then most other incarnations and a lot ruder. I didn't particually like the bit where he declined to have Sheppards Pie with his assistants mother. Moving on to Billie Pipers character now I thought she did quite well at playing Rose Tyler. She was realistic, cheeky and very effective as an audience surrogate. (it's just a shame she has been highjacked by fan girls who weep uncontrollably while wathing Doomsday) I would like to have seen Eccleston do a second series. He bought many great quallities to his version of the Doctor. I liked his humour and the way he could be at the centre of attention without doing much. I would also have liked to seen more of Captain Jack travelling with the Doctor and Rose and I thought that the character of Adam Mitchell (Assistant from Dalek to The Long Game) was completly pointless. One last thing about Niney. I would have loved to have seen him in Day of the Doctor. It would have been funny to have had Matt Smith's Doctor call him Dumbo. Other then that I thought that Niney was in his own words: FANTASTIC
Moving on to David Tennants Doctor I thought he was a little bit over rated. He did a very good perfomance as the Doctor but I think the Fan Girls that highjacked the show elevated him into something like a God. I found him a bit over the top sometimes when he got angry but he was certaintly a good Doctor. Very quirky and at times I actually belived he was 900 years old. In relation to some of the monster he faced I found the Sontarans a bit too short and I didn't like John Simms Master. That was too over the top as well. I thought that Martha Jones was a good assistant and I loved the comedey of Catherine Tate's Donna Nobel. I also like the Fires of Pompeii and the way that Donna was able to convince the Doctor to save that family. One of my cheif pet hates about David Tennant's era was the way that his Assistants were only with him for one series but other then that David Tennant was okay. I liked the way Sarah Jane Smith came back into the series but I had an urge to scream at the telley when watching the End of Time. That regeneration sequence was far too long for my tastes. I was like yey you are going to regenerate. Get on with it your predecessors went with much more dignaty then you! you are wasting my time! Which leads us on to Matt Smith.
I took to Matt Smith straight away when the Eleventh Hour aired. He reminded me of Patrick Troughton. In both his costume and his mannerisms. If you were to line up the three latest Doctors and ask me which one was the Doctor, I would pick Matt Smith. He is a far more funnier Doctor and I enjoyed a lot of his stories. I thought that Amy Pond was the best assistant of the revived series. I liked the way that she waited a long time for the Doctor. She was wacky, funny and the on screen chemestry between Smith and Gillan was brilliant. I also liked the character of Rory Williams. I liked the story in which he waited for Amy for two thousand years! That certaintly puts some perspective to the impatient fans waiting for more missing episodes to turn up. I particularly enjoyed the character of River Song and I especially enjoyed the episodes in which she appered alongside Amy and Rory. They were fun to watch. I was quite saddened when Amy and Rory left the show and found it quite difficult to take to Clara. However I liked here Character in the Day of the Doctor so there is hope for me yet.
So heres to Peter Capaldi. An older actor like him shall bring more gravitas to the roll of the Doctor.

Last episode of Capaldi's DOCTOR WHO is that he runs into a mall but The Sontarans took over the mall. All of The Sontarans shoot The Doctor at once but he uses his sonic screwdriver to shield him from the blast but it was too late for the Doctor and as he is regenerating he blasts all of The Sontarans at once. Then the Doctor regenerates into a new body. That was my dream.

For those of you who bothered to watch the Christmas special, there's some priestess character with make-up across her eyes which more than slightly resembles ........ 16mm film!!!

Moving on to David Tennants Doctor ... That regeneration sequence was far too long for my tastes. I was like yey you are going to regenerate. Get on with it your predecessors went with much more dignaty then you! you are wasting my time! Which leads us on to Matt Smith. .. You must have liked Matt into Capaldi then.... no dragging it out there!... Tho in general Regeneration in Nu Who has become a bit like the Sonic Screrwdriver.. Use when plot is stuck... Eccleston to Tennant was fairly Normal. Tennant to Meta Crisis Tennant was convenient... lucky he had a spare hand. Tennant to Smith was again reasonably normal.. bar the destructive force of the regeneration destroying the console room.(why didnt it do it in the previous regens?) Smith to Capaldi... handy plot device to wipe out the Daleks, though i suppose as it was a regen reset given by the time lords this could've been a "bonus", still would have preferred him to change there than the blink and you will miss it of the actual change. Overall i'm hoping for a fresh start as i found this to be quite a "meh" story, especially after the MUCH MUCH better anniversary stories(Night of.. was still my favorite..)
