At Edinburgh we are showing an At Last the 1948 Show, It's Lulu!, Twentieth Century Theatre: Colombe and a 1960s Dr Who episode (title TBC). There will also be some other goodies announced nearer the time. MBW is treadily available to anywhere in the UK but someone has to request it. The regional film theatres work with the BFI on other seasons but for some reason have never picked up on MBW. What happened in Edinburgh is that a local film and TV fan Jonathan Melville contacted Filmhouse in Edinburgh and urged them to host an MBW event in this MBW's 20th year - they got in touch with me and we formulated a plan. If you want an MBW in your area petition your local arthouse cinema (or equivalent) and get them to contact me at the BFI. It's an intiative we are very keen on expanding across the UK

Thank you Dick and Jonathan for arranging the MBW event for Edinburgh. I have never been to a MBW event before, so to go to my first one in my home-town is special to me. It looks a good mixture of programmes, I hope it is well attended? Dick, I have a question for you, do you think there is any chance of MBW becoming an annual part of the Guardian Edinburgh International TV Festival? or even part of the Fringe? So many influential TV people from around the world go to this event, that it might stimulate some of them to search through their dusty archives? www.geitf.co.uk/GEITF/what-is-GEITF

I've long thought of geting an MBW presence at the TV Festival for obvous reasons - trouble is it's short and there's not a lot of time to fit in extra screenings. People often fly in as late as possible before the beginning and fly out immediately it ends so we'd lose a lot of them if we programmed an event immediately before or after. I think it would make most sense if we could build in an event (maybe a panel discussion followed by a screening) into the official Media Guardian International Television Festival programme. I do take the point that it would be a good opportunity to reach some of those who may be unaware that they are holding items thought lost. I'll definitely appraoch the Festival organisers but was unsuccessful with a similar pitch some years back. Still no harm in trying.

Its going to busy at that end of Edinburgh as Hearts host Celtic in the Cup just down the road the same day - and the kick-off time clashes with MBW

Strictly speaking your username should not be just a last name, but rather "DFiddy", "D.Fiddy", or "Dick Fiddy". I suspect staff doesn't want to press the point in your case (or is tired of reminding every new registree), but if you could change it perhaps? I feel this is only fair. This can be done by clicking "Profile", "Edit profile", tab "Username". Thanks.

Can anyone clarify whether any missing material was announced at the MBW event in Edinburgh yesterday? I have heard that a missing episode of At Last The 1948 Show was shown, and not one of the Swedish compilations either.
