When did Roberts say that about UM? That wouldn't make sense as restoration for episode 2 occurred prior to Enemy and Web. I believe they did the restoration for that and Air Lock.

Another country to add to his list of visited: Syria. Not a Who location, but shows that he's committed to recovery of films ANYWHERE. Scary story about missing the shell attack there by 10 feet. EDIT: He has been to Ethiopia.

All dr who prints returned to London from siera leone in 1974 according to traffic reports he found there unfortunately meaning there is less chance of any surviving.

A response to a question about Sierra Leone has left me confused. The question was:
"15) Michael East: Have your endeavours uncovered evidence that more prints of Doctor Who were produced than is common public record, such as audition prints or duplication for simultaneous broadcast? You tweeted photos of yourself in Sierra Leone, there has been much speculation surrounding the fate of the SLTV/SLBS film store with allegedly burned down in 1999. Can you confirm this is the case and all film held within was indeed destroyed?"
His answer:
"Hi Michael yes I have found evidence of audition prints.Yes I have visited sierra leonne .and I do posses there programme traffic records .I can tell you all Doctor Who prints were sent back to london in 1974."
I am assuming that what he means is traffic reports for Season 1 and 2. Since Season 3 was destroyed in 1999 because of the war. Or maybe thinking has changed on that?

Confirms that he also located Pertwee episodes, but that they were beyond hope. His guess was Ambassadors Part 2, as I don't think he could remember exactly.

Sierra Leone aired Season 3 in 1970/1971. Presumably that was returned to London in 1974, and this is more current information than the second-hand report that they were likely destroyed in a 1999 fire in Sierra Leone. Besides, wasn't the theory that Season 1 and 2 were sent to Ethiopia in 1970?

Yes. But the Bicycling Chain to Ehtiopia was only a guess by those working with the information. It has never been confirmed, but if he has Programme Traffic Records, then it probably has been. Either to Ethiopia or to the UK.

True. But I think we can put Sierra Leone to rest. He didn't make very many explicit comments, but that he very clearly said all the prints were sent back in 1974. As this was years after Season 3 aired there, it would seem that their fate was to binned (or go walkies) in London.

Eh. In my opinion it just opened up more questions. And honestly, I would rather the reels end up in London. At least they'd have a chance at "walkies" there. But I don't want to assume anything.

Enemy went up on to iTunes with VidFire applied, Web did not. I am to understand that iTunes negates most of the vidfire effect, but you probably noticed the subtle difference anyway. You absolutely will not notice any subtle difference. The iTunes SD video is encoded at 25fps progressive, thus throwing away half the available motion information of any PAL vidfired masters... (though I believe Peter Crocker stated that they were not supplied to itunes with vidfire applied, as there would've been no point).

The last question was whether there would be any kind of announcement late in 2014. The answer: "There are no announcements in the pipeline at present". 'Pipeline'=code for "no 'Fury From the Deep' this year". Hmm.Someone's posted the very same witticism on Planet Mondas.Six minutes before I.Cue the theme tune of that 60s TV show.I have a doppelganger. Or the joke's so bleedin' obvious! Anyway,I am not Jacksen C. Frame (or whatever),though I do sometimes answer to 'Lola'.(Though never online).
