I'm sure there was a thread or mention of it in the past, but are there any audio recordings of the missing Q5s out there?

My copies (avi's) are labeled Episode 1 and 5 (the black and white ones) although I have a feeling It's not episode 1 but episode 2.
The earlier one has the "Pim Pom Pom Pom Pom" sketch along with a rehash of the Standing Still race with the same footage from his 1961 BBC special with new audio.
The second one opens with spike saying "And the magic word this week is, the tree fell on her) they then do a gag about the pill.
I've only seen small snippits of the color episode, from the "Heroes of Comedy" documentary.

He also posted it's funnier than Monty Python. I'm inclined to agree. Once watching Q it makes Python look like a poor imitation. I'm also a sucker for random Race and Sex jokes being made for no apparent reason.

I thought so. I remember reading somewhere it was episode 2. The second ep you say is 5 is the first ep on the youtube clip. Haven't watched it all - or seen the second ep yet.

Does anyone know when the series Q5 was last screened in Australia (was it ever?)

Apparently the 7 Network showed it in the (early/mid) '70s. Or so I am told. Q7 and Q8 were on ABC. Q9 was not shown complete but in compilation. But this is just from the memory of a friend of mine. He may not recall every repeat (I think he gave a different account about Gnomes of Dulwhich than another thread here did).

The excellent Simon Moreby has spoken to a few people and with a bit of detective work it transpires that the first episode is 07/04/69, and the second is 24/03/69.
""Missing or incomplete episodes for programme Q5. 24.03.69 with Richard Ingrams, John Bluthal, John Wells, Philippe Le Bars, Anthony Trent (missing) 31.03.69 with Neil Shand, John Bluthal, Fanny Carby, Alan Clare, Philippe Le Bars A 16mm black-and-white film print exists, but the programme was originally made using 2" colour videotape. 07.04.69 with John Wells, Richard Ingrams, John Bluthal, Philippe Le Bars, Charlie Young A 16mm black-and-white film print exists, but the programme was originally made using 2" colour videotape. 21.04.69 with Richard Ingrams, John Bluthal, John Wells, Eric Sykes, Katie Boyle (missing) 28.04.69 with John Bluthal, Fanny Carby, Ray Ellington, Michael Malnick, Philippe Le Bars (missing) 05.05.69 with Philippe Le Bars, John Bluthal, Charlie Young, John Wells, Alan Clare (missing)
Out of an original total of 7 episodes, 4 episodes are missing and 2 others exist on formats inferior to the original.""
It has been confirmed that all audios of the series exist, too.

We can probably safely infere that the one surviving colour episode would be the program from 1969-04-14 then.

So the main website's list is correct (or was it recently updated).
Good news about the audios, I hadn't heared that before. Were they among Ed Doolan's tapes, does anyone know?

Kaleidoscope recovered all the audios from a collector at the March event. Oh, that would be at the 2013 The Redif Rewind? And of course, the b/w ones could THEORETICALLY be chroma dotted back into colour. By the way, Chris, no time for boredom but did you see my email from last week?
