One things for sure. Whether or not a HUGE amount of missing Doctor Who episodes have been found, or whether it's actually all a HUGE HOAX...Richard Molesworth will have enough material to fill a further third edition of his book 'Wiped! : The Missing Episodes of Doctor Who'. :-)

Back to the "two episodes found in Australia" rumour, could it have its origin in the return of G4-3 and UM-2 in 2011? Both are supposed to be 1975 Australian returns. I don't think there's much more left to find in Australia. The ABC had a good relationship with the BBC - they had first refusal on BBC programmes - and they didn't want to jeopardise that by breaking the "return or destroy" clause in the contract. "Wheel In Space" was destroyed, we can be almost sure of that! And there's no proof that the ABC had multiple copies of Doctor Who serials. What do you mean The Wheel destroyed. How do you know The Wheel In Space was destroyed? The Missing Episode Nexus, "How Many Prints?" states The Wheel was junked by the ABC in 1976. It wasn't returned to the BBC.

Gathering what I can from the various reports and postings, both here and elsewhere, these films haven't gone to the BBC but to another outfit. So the BBC can very easily deny them with a straight face because they don't have them. The RT can say they're not working on them, because if the BBC haven't got them, they don't have access. Paul can be totally honest and say that he hasn't seen them. Perfect plausible deniability all round. Because until these alleged containers have been thoroughly checked, for condition and viability, then catalogued, and the material returned to the BBC, I doubt we'll get any official announcement. And whatever's happening that day, it'll be headline news. I'm just wondering if these recent Sky at Night returns were just tasters, a proof that this guy does indeed have a cache of episodes. The official beeb sources could not be more emphatic. Nothing has been returned, nothing is going to be returned. Negotitations are not ongoing. I do ot see what more they can say. They could, if they wished, be considerably "more emphatic". They could actually issue a flat-out denail, for one thing, which they have not done: a vague "we cannot confirm" is not a denial. Martin, why is it so important to you to put a stop to this rumour? In the past few days, not only have you repeated the same mantra with every other post over here, you've even gone so far as to join at least one dedicated Doctor Who forum elsewhere specifically in order to do the same thing there (which went down like a lead balloon)-and on the RT website. Why are you so obsessed with stopping people from having hope? What can you possibly get out of it?

Polite reminder to keep it civil, folks. Otherwise the thread can be locked, as before.

"Wheel in Space" episode 3 and a 35mm print of episode 6 do exist, although Sue butcher may have just said what she thought was obvious.

Not wishing this to sound like some 70's cop show, but we really need to get to Philip Morris...! What he said. 1) Ascertain the films WERE actually sent. 2) Get in the warehouse in Liverpool. 3) Observe said 3 tons of film cans. Then, and ONLY then: 3) Get excited. Until then, it's all j***ies, as someone on here said recently.

No, but then again neither does the print. It was junked, along with several others.

I know The Daleks Mater Plan Episode 4 The Traitors was lost, The Wheel In Space Episode 5, The Power of The Daleks 6, The Crusade Episode 1 The Lion, and I don't know the rest but it was one from The Celstia Toymaker and one from The Ice Warriors which I think was episode 3? Anyways what happen to those episode beside The Power Of The Daleks or The Wheel In Space or The Master Plan?
