Not only the music but the howl-around graphics at the beginning of each episode were iconic also so I hope that gets a mention also.I think it would also be important to maybe zip forward 3 years and look at the creation of the regenaration concept- a time of crisis after the show's initial success.

Brian Cox as Sydney? I presume we are talking about the guy who played Hannibal Lecter, not the former pop star turned physicist, then?

William Hartnell was one of the finest character actors of our time and as a fan I want to make sure that I do him justice. I'm so looking forward to getting started. Encouraging quote. I think the casting has been, thus far, excellent.

Brilliant choice. Bradley not only looks like him, but has a huge acting range and should be able to tackle any Hartnell facet that he's tasked with. Great choice...

I agree.
And he'll be the fourth actor to play the first doctor on screen .... which is quite odd, really.

Unless Moffat decides to utilize him in some way. Could be possible.

I think it would be a given that, if they were to recast the roles of the first 3 Docs for an anniversary thing, it'd be Bradley they'd ask.
But, as of yet, and unless Colin Baker is very, very good at lying, it seems unlikely that it's Moffat's plan for a multi-Doctor celebration. Ho hum.

Paul Agreed that he'll be the first actor to play Hartnell, but surely part of the drama will be to show "Harnell" playing the first Doctor, which will also mean he'll be playing the first Doctor as well (via Hartnell).
