He looks more like Richard O'Brien to me...
...in the ad, that is.

He's a touch on the short side, isn't he? Even Sly is taller. (Hartnell was 5' 8.5", the same height as Paul McGann)

Just keeping up with the announcements for this: Jamie Glover will play William Russell, Jemma Powell will play Jacqueline Hill, and they got William Russell as well! He'll be playing "Harry", probably a small cameo. :3 I wonder if Carol Ann Ford or Waris Hussein will get small cameos?

Anneke Wills is to be a cameo. I think Mr Russell is the car park commissionaire at BBC who doesnt let Bill Hartnell park at tv centre.

I can honesty say that bloke looks NOTHING like Hartnell!! William Russell is confirmed as having a cameo, and a lot of signs indicate Carole will also be involved.

Reece Shearsmith cast as Patrick Troughton. Indications are that actors have been cast for Peter Purves and Maureen O'Brien. :3

I am surprised at the ever increasing scope of this project . Initially I thought it would probably cover the events of the first few episodes. But with Reece Shearsmith cast as Troughton and I'm wondering if this will take us up eventually to the Three Doctors? This is a one-off drama isn't it?

The theme of Hartnell taking up the role late in his career, and becoming a national institution might be one thread; another could be the difficulty of facing problems associated with old age,and being forced to give place to another man.

From what I've heard - and this is hearsay, not a spoiler - is the show begins with Hartnell's regeneration in 1966 then flashes back four years to Sydney Newman and Verity Lambert in 1962 beginning to create the show.

Hey. Possible spoiler pics for those who don't want them:
Is this the docudrama or is it an original picture? I can't tell:
((LINKS REMOVED))
Friend sent me them and they're on Gallifrey, but I'm not sure.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see jeans and sneakers in one of them. DAMN, that confused me for a moment.

AMAZING.
Hartnell is taller than Ian and Barbara but if you can get past that its incredible. They've rebuilt the junkyard AND the TARDIS interior. It looks amazing.
Can they remake the missing episodes while the sets up?
