With Tomb some fans have picked on the odd ropey effect, mostly during the Toberman - Cyberleader fight. Yeah, and that totally baffles me. My only guess was that since people first saw it in 1992, some people somehow expected 1992 style special effects -- even if totally subconsciously. Tomb of the Cybermen is no worse an offender than anything else of the age, if not actually better than most the other existing contemporary material. Also, I cheer in delight during that Toberman fight scene with the obvious dummy. I thrill to the Zarbi smacking full on into the camera. I love the 500+ total technical disasters which comprise the entire running length of The Chase. The fact that I've ever even noticed these errors speaks to how often I've watched the stories.

Surely this is jest? Watching tomb in '92 was like getting a bj from Dianna Rigg. Haven't had the pleasure, sadly. Anyone got her phone number? . It's not a pleasure I'd want these days without the help of a working time machine!

Part of the fun of watching some old stories is spotting the mistakes, especially the ones Cornell - Day - Topping missed when writing The Disconinuity Guide.

The print is currently selling for £216.00... Out of interest, does anyone have records of rough memories of how much prints have sold for on eBay previously?

The cheapest I've ever seen was around £100, the most expensive prior to this last one was £800 ...

It's up to 700.00 GBP ... 1,117.69 US$. And it may be a dupe! Very nice.
They say "Third time's a charm". That must mean the next print for sale will be something the BBC would want. :3

Can someone please clarify the difference between an original 16 mm print - done by the BBC in the 60s? a "dupe" 16 mm print - unauthorized copy in the 80s? are there any other kind of DW 16 mm prints out there? lastly, what about the 8 mm stuff? A dupe is not necessarily unauthorized - the BBC did dupes themselves of some prints for various reasons (for instance, dupe negs were made from the returned prints of Ice Warriors, Evil, Faceless ones, etc) ... A Dupe is simply a print that is made by copying another print - either via a new negative, or direct contact reversal.
