What the guy could have is a collection of recons on vhs which is more plausable. A newbie collector would be excited about that. There were no recons in 1982. The telesnaps weren't discovered for another 10 years. I recall an early telesnap reconstruction of Power at a DWAS convention. Unfortunately the cassette it had been recorded onto wouldn't play properly on the machine at the convention venue. The attempt to show it was abandoned after a few minutes and a lot of fiddling.

I think this is the one you are talking about:
Fan Richard Landen experimented with his video editing skills in early 1987, synching up his off-air soundtrack of Episode Two of 'The Power of the Daleks' with a selection of [Christopher] Barry's Tele-snaps, to create a reconstruction of the episode. This was shown at the first TellyCon convention in April 1987.' Wiped! Page 303

My memory is of a DWAS event which demonstrated the problem with some VHS machines - tapes recorded on one machine wouldn't necessarily play properly on another.

I think many dreamed of combining the photos and audio together for years. I remember when younger in the 80s i think, I experimented with my movie camera attempting to combine the audio of power episode 1 with the photos from the book. Glad those much more skilled than myself have succeeded.

Again, not being cheeky here, but do you run this forum? (Half your posts are along the line of 'Dead thread close it now' etc.

I honestly was just telling a story that I had heard from an aquaintance. This is what this forum is all about. An exchange of ideas and opinions and possibe sometimes ludicrous situations. Let's just forget I said anyhthing on the matter. The vhs tapes might of been early recons etc. But this still does not rule out the fact that he says he saw the Macra Terror episodes 2 and 3 in there entirety. Maybe a liar but please let us at least check it out.

John.. many here appear to know toby intimately, and if he had it back then, they would know of it. even if it was simply macra terror 2 and 3. Its good that youre thinking of ideas, and looking for leads, however comparing your one rumor compared to those who know the gentleman, it appears to not be valid.. still glad that youre trying. .but while Im not recommending the tread be locked, i think the question has been addressed to my satisfaction.
