Just recieved my copy of DWM #443 - they've got quite a big feature on the newly recovered episodes, with contributions from many of the users of this forum! Next issue, it looks like their main feature is going to be all about the missing episodes... I'm sure that some of you guys may already know this if you've contributed, but all the same it's worth mentioning. I expect that there's not much more that it can tell you after you've read the Wiped! book, but all the same it will be interesting, and good publicity. Also, I was interested to see the annoucement in the Gallifrey Guardian that the next issue of Rcihard Bignell's excellent 'Nothing At The End Of The Lane' will contain not only previously-unpublished off-screen photos from 'Evil of the Daleks', but also (and I quote) "newly discovered location pictures from 1966's 'The Smugglers' and 1967/8's 'The Enemy of the World'". I'm not sure if this has been announced or discussed here before, but it's brilliant news! Thanks to all those involved in the recovery, and of course to Richard

I won't spoil the surprise by saying exactly what it is yet, but one of Richard's 'Nothing-Lane' discoveries is the subject of a piece in tomorrow's edition of The Times.
He's done some remarkable work.

This is wonderful news. I was thinking only yesterday that it's been almost a month since a major find was announced...

I'm always glad to see new images recovered. Yep - as the discoveries of the two recent episodes went to show, though it's amazing that we do have the soundtracks to all of the missing episodes, they're never quite a match for the picture. Troughton's performance in 'The Underwater Menace' P2 is priceless, and without a visual record, all we would hear would be the dialogue and some shuffling. So it's great that new photos have turned up, even if they're behind the scenes material - in fact, I find them just as if not more interesting What with the colour location footage and now these photos, 'The Smugglers' seems to have plenty of behind-the-scenes action on offer to make up for the absence of the episodes! It's great that these shots/clips give us not only a taste of what the story looked like, but also how it was made Thanks again to Richard and all others involved for the recovery! That really made my day.

No one (around here at least) sells DWM anymore!! I reckon I've got just about every issue (somewhere) from between 95' and 02'. It was about by that stage I think I'd read the same old info and seen the same old pictures reprinted about 10-15 times, bearing in mind there wasn't much "new stuff" to write about (apart from book reviews etc.) might have to renew my subscription!
*Richard* does your excellent magazine find it's way down here in Australia at all? I mean in such a way that I could find it at a shop that sells Sci/Fi Fantasy themed items.

I was about to say that Tescos sells it,then remembered where you are. I saw that at a (recent?) ceremony to mark DWM's record as the world's longest-running magazine devoted to a TV show, certified by the Guinness Book of Records, the original editor Dez Skinn heaped praise on those who had kept the magazine going during the show's hiatus, when there really was little new news.

Just before you all rush out and buy one, the Doctor Who piece doesn't seem to be in today's paper. I'm assuming that it's been delayed for some reason. As soon as I know what's going on, I'll let you know.
However, unless I'm missing some pages, it doesn't seem to be in today's Times at all.
