Without wishing to drive it too far OT, how much exposure to water can they stand? I used to do a bit of reversal processing of 8mm a while back and over an hour wet obviously didn't do any harm. Is it getting water in between tightly wound layers that especially causes the damage? Cheers Jim Are you sure that was water? Film chemicals are a different matter... regular water starts washing away the emulsion pretty quickly -- wont happen if you drip some water on the print and wipe it off, but after a few hours, it will start to smear.
