The idea of a Fire Brigade promo is fascinating, no idea if it was completed/exists, though given it's non reappearance anywhere and the breakdown story it seems on the side of unlikely. In addition, the book that comes with the Move boxset contains a photo from March 1967 of "a still from the I Can Hear the Grass Grow promo film": I've never seen or heard or this video otherwise: any idea if there's any hope it's still at large? Well the Move's record company can now rest assured as can all fans that the 'I Can Hear the Grass Grow' promo exists:- from the Huntley Archive:- ""Film Number: 11294 | Category: Music | Decade: 1960's | Sound: Sound | Colour: B/W Promotional film for the Move song 'I Can Hear The Grass Grow'. The Move arrive at a wood in the country in their Alfa Romeo car. They get out and walk into the wood. They are filmed standing around and pulling silly faces. They sit down at a table and are served tea by an old man. Some teenage girl fans begin to appear amongst the trees. They attack the group and pull their clothes off. The band fall about laughing then chase the girls away. Band members Roy Wood, Ace Kefford, Trevor Burton"" I'm counting this as a find (mind you I count most things....). I am unsure if it was shown on TOTP or any other UK show, though. Not to denigrate your ongoing amazing and unyielding work Ray which keeps revealing great lost televisual treats for us all to enjoy. However I'm surprised this has been listed as a find considering this clip has been on Huntley's database for more than 10 years. There are a lot of very interesting delights to be uncovered in the Huntley archives. The backstage Rolling Stones European Tour footage from 1970 for one! BTW - The Move clip is from 35mm as is their copy of The Kinks' Dead End Street' promo. The Move's clip as I understand was filmed during the first and only time Carl Wayne took acid.

Indeed, Larry, it's been there a while, by all accounts, but noone has mentioned it online, and it hasn't been seen on youtube or released onDVD, and one Move website said it was missing. And thank you for your kind words!
All being well should have at least one find tomorrow for everyone and maybe another two later in the week. Nothing majorly sought after, but finds are finds! Laurence has already been informed.
Interestingly, the Stones footage I think has been issued on bootleg. I will check with my Stones expert in France. The Beatles/solo footage in there all exists - mainly from promos, although Huntley have Instant Karma version two, which is slightly rarer....

Agreed. I would dearly love to see this item as well. Was interesting in hearing that this was filmed on the only time Carl Wayne took acid. And had girls attack them from the woods, ripping their clothes off while on a trip ( quite literally ). Man, that would be a trip just thinking about!!
I have said this time and time and time again now. In that the Huntley Archive deserves a through look over. As there appear to be quite a few lost-misplaced items about they have compiled. Wishing they had a video preview site set up for their materials, hmm??
Excellent work here Again Ray My friend, Keep up the stellar work as always!!
Cheers, Lance.

I emailed them.. their rate is £68.40 for a DVD of one reel.. They're supplied watermarked with their logo and timecoded. That's a bit steep for me so I'll leave it, but if anyone else is interested, get in contact with them at www.huntleyarchives.com/index.phpand for the right price you could have a copy of this Move video. I just checked (as Ray did too I'm sure) their online search engine for 60s music in general - haven't seen anything that stuck out as being missing but might be worth others having a look in case they see anything else of interest.

So just to clarify the situation with Chinatown,it was performed on TOTP and LIFT OFF and as far as we know they are both missing. Not any closer to the Holy Grail of finding 'Chinatown' on TOTP but here is the actual ticket for the afternoon run through of TOTP where 'The Move' performed 'Chinatown'. God you can almost touch it.....

It would have been such a drag to have built a time machine but have no ticket for the event...

It's well documented that Time Travel was invented by William Chalker in 1967.
