Mention was also made on another thread here of Vinegar Joe and I can't say i've ever seen much footage of them. Vinegar Joe performed "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" on disco No. 26 (3rd March, 1973). They also appeared in Musikladen No. 11 (20th February 1974) with "Proud To Be A Honky Woman". Besides, there is "Ride Me Easy Rider" on the "Sensational Sounds Of The 70's Vol. 1" DVD.

Vinegar Joe - See the World / 18th September 1972 Vinegar Joe - No One Do & Never Met a Dog / 25th September 1972

Thanks for those details, Nic. I have seen some of those clips you have listed but had no idea they where they were from. Such a rich pop archive exists in europe. Is there a list of all the pop shows that ran through the sixties there? It would certainly be interesting to take a look at an index of acts who performed and what still survives. Any episode guides to any of those lesser known shows too would be good.
Thanks to everyone for contributing and making this thread so fascinating to read. Keep em coming if you can.

Another act I thought of who I've never seen a clip of is Magill Five (Mockingbird Hill). Does anything exist of them?

Yes... two songs including "Mockingbird Hill" by Migil Five exist on colour film in one of those 2 1964 movie compilations hosted by DJ's. Can't remember what those films were called but they've been regularly plundered. I seem to recall it may had been Alan Freeman introducing them and mentioning blue beat. Long time since I saw it.

Think they were on a film short called Swinging UK which along with another film short UK Swings Again got released on DVD last year by Strike Force Entertainment(one of Network DVD's labels)

Thank you for the details on Magill Five, Phillip and Ian. Glad there's something of them out there, even if not any tv specifically.
Does anyone have an update on either Fusion Orchestra or Wild Turkey? These are two fairly obscure seventies bands who were mentioned early on in this thread but I don't think any more was said about them. Thanks.

Clinton Ford. Ive never seen any of his TV performances, i believe he was popular in the 60s. I love his song, RUN TO THE DOOR, did he ever appear on TOTPs?

That's an interesting find, Keith. Is it just an isolated survivor as far as Austrian archives are concerned? Clips of Marbles are fairly scarce (i've seen a colour clip from European TV but not of Only One Woman). Is there anything more from them, other than these two clips? The Marbles- Only one Woman b/w promo film with the duo surrounded by animation The Walls Fell down - promo film where they are running up stairs . I found some footage of the Showstoppers - Ain`t nothing but a houseparty survives in the 25/2/71 TOTP .

The youtube link above is to a Swiss TV performance by The Marbles on Hits a Gogo (26th February 1969), they also sung their biggest hit on the same show 'Only One Woman'. David Bowie's Space Oddity performance from the same Swiss show Hits a Gogo was only discovered a few years ago, it was originally broadcast on the 12th November 1969 and survives in black & white, would the original footage be colour?

Very difficult to pinpoint from that still.
Looks American, possibly hullabaloo? or Shindig?
Is there a youtube link?

The still from Middel Deutscher Rundfunk (MDR - Germany) probably taken from the "Damals war´s" show, my guess the footage is from Scandinavian TV, country of origin well my money would be on:
1- Sweden 2- Denmark or 3- Holland
