I've just watched this 1965 episode and it's interesting as I actually recall the storyline of Carlos from the time! Amazing!

Does anyone know the actual start date Crossroads was first shown in the London area?

Does anybody else remember something that happened to 'Crossroads' in the early to mid 70's when it just stopped all the current storylines and just began a fresh. The was just a quick explaination from Noele Gordon explaining what should happened.

This happened to Crossroads in the Granada region and as far I'm aware there was no real break in transmission just a fresh set of storylines following a week lay off. Some cast members were replaced without explanation and new members (certainly both Shoey McFee and Benny) arrived.

Does anyone know the actual start date Crossroads was first shown in the London area? It was around Xmas 1964 or just after. I know as I watched the first one myself (it began in ATV Midlands a short time earlier though, hence I recall the first one that was shown in the London area had a short intro from a man sitting behind a desk talking to the audience, introducing us to the characters and re-capping what we'd missed up till then!)

I cant watch this on the ITV website... they want me to install some silly microsoft plug in, which apparently is some active x thing that invites malware etc according to the search I did.... whats wrong with flash player or something....? A bit irksome that ITV insist on using software that isnt universally supported

Yep, I think the Tunisia trip was around 1966 / 7 (with location filming, I seem to think?). There was also the bomb explosion storyline about then as well. I remember Wendy Padbury appeared sometimes as one of Sandy's school friends early on too. It would be great to see a few more early episodes as it's a part of the series' history that has been forgotten. Everyone talks about the '70s era but Crossroads had been around a long time by then!

Wasnt Arnold Ridley (Godfrey from Dad's Army) in some episodes as a semi-regular? I think the Crossroads cast appear on his This Is Your Life, from 76.
Can anyone give a definite time-line and if any of his episodes survive?

Hmm, I can't recall exactly when his episodes were. I seem to think he reappeared sporadically and possibly even reappeared briefly in the colour era (?) although his main period may have been late '60s or thereabouts. He played Guy Atkins (?)

Absolutely ! I seem to recall a scheming American called Louise trying to snatch the motel and her psychotic, rapist brother Ken on 1960s afternoon telly no problem. Then of course there was drugs and witchcraft.... .
