About 30 in the Sound Archives "proper", (all but one of which has turned up on R7 fairly recently) - including the 16 eps that comprise the final two series in total.
There's a few more held by TS, and that includes a run of re-recorded remakes of earlier scripts, (one of which has turned up on R4 in the 90s).

There are over 140 episodes floating around in collector's circles, plus a few South African remakes.

Can you tell me if there are any missing episodes of the radio series men from the ministry? As the BBC site seem an bit vague as to this. I have the one with Clive Dunn who thinks the war is still on.
Also I have a radio series Paisley sidings set in a rural railway station with Ian Lavender. One episode features the original master Roger Delgado.
I am interested in locating the pilot episode of It sticks out 1/2 a mile" with Arthur Lowe if you can help?
Regards Mr Boston

THE MEN FROM THE MINISTRY: as this thread implies, there ARE gaps in the archive for this. The Clive Dunn ep isn't among the missing.
PARSLEY SIDINGS: a selection from the existing eps turns up on R7 regularly, the Delgado ep among them.
ISOHAM pilot: buy the DAD'S ARMY COMPLETE SERIES THREE cd set - it's included there. Also been on R7.

Sorry Mark, but things like trading etc are discouraged here for obvious reasons (and against forum rules).
Hope you eventually find what you're looking for though...

Looks like a considerable number of these episodes are in circulation. Just did a search on eBay and there are numerous MP3 discs advertised with 109+ episodes from both the Hyde-White and Derek Guyler eras, which is obviously considerably more than exist in the official archives. Does anyone know if these have been returned in the years since this thread was last active?

There are two versions of many MFTM eps. Those from the original broadcasts, and those cut short by about 5 mins from transcription disks. I think Barry Cryer did a special about the latter (using examples from MFTM and Clitheroe Kid etc.) some years' back. On the trading / swapping front whilst it might be against the rules to actually advertise swaps I deem it useful to known that 'missing' eps. exist out there and where. It saves time and effort having to search for them further. There are excellent lists on Wiki of existing / missing eps of the Navy Lark and the Clitheroe Kid (and possible Dad's Army). This site gives a reasonably complete listing for MFTM laughterlog.com/2009/02/14/radio-the-men-from-the-ministry/The SA versions are interesting. They were based upon BBC scripts but using local J'burg actors. These latter created persona in their own right. There's only about 5 out of hundreds eps. in circulation amongst fans, maybe Springbok Radio (now long defunct) has more, but like many in their archives are unavailable to anyone and likely to be lost for all time. No-one on the fan circuit knows what eps. were made v.v. what survive. schajer.org/mftm/schajer.org/mftm/mftm-sa.htm

These are the 109 episodes advertised on a well known auction site in MP3 format. Interesting that the BBC Transcription Unit also produced a number of MFTM shows for sale overseas. Does the list above include these? Perhaps the list could be annotated to include the eps. that were not aired in the UK.
And did the Beeb re-broadcast any of these recently on R4X?
Hey, I might even have some of these on tapes from when I was living overseas in the 1970s. Hmm, if I have any what to do with them is a moot point!
It would also be useful is the few remaining SA versions could be linked somehow to the Brit versions where they used the same scripts.

More info. from Radio Echoes:
"The Men from the Ministry was a British radio comedy series broadcast by the BBC between 1962 and 1977, starring Wilfrid Hyde-White, Richard Murdoch and, from 1966, when he replaced Hyde-White, Deryck Guyler. Written and produced by Edward Taylor with contributions from John Graham, and with some early episodes written by Johnnie Mortimer and Brian Cooke, it ran for 14 series, totalling 147 half-hour episodes.
"A further 14 episodes were made by the BBC Transcription Service in 1980 but never broadcast in the UK. Versions were made by YLE in Finland, Sveriges Radio (SR) in Sweden, and Springbok Radio in South Africa, where it was made into a feature-length film."
Hmm, now I wonder if the feature-length film from SA is around anywhere?

In the Paul Temple thread LanceM mentioned that he had reel-reel tapes of: missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/4624/paul-temple17: Men From The Ministry: Fancy Dress Ball, Miss Chatterly's Lover, Invention of the Whatsit(1967), House Fraud, Red Shadow, The Rose Problem, Number 2 Becomes A Jockey, Nerve Gas, Nudist Camp, Visit To America, Animals For The Zoo, The Party. These appear to be South African versions, survivors of about 900 episdoes!! All the more interesting for that. On the subject of missing UK eps here's a list, but some have since been discovered lurking on various OTR sites: schajer.org/mftm/missing.htmWhat UK MFTM fans are looking for are the UK versions of 'Miss Chatterly's Lover' and 'The Pudding From Outer Space,' these both feature John Laurie in place of Deryck Guyler. From the BBC Genome project both were aired by the Beeb in the 1970s on BBC Radio 4 FM. So the Beeb likely has them but for some reason wont release them. Does anyone know what the situation is with these? The UK 'Miss Chatterly's Lover' is out there, but of a *very* poor quality. The file needs some work on it. I have this and am happy for someone here to work on it if they wish. PM me privately. Stop Press: a version of 'Pudding' has just been located ...
