but... will the B&W version have a 4:3 aspect ratio?

but... will the B&W version have a 4:3 aspect ratio? Probably not. I know it would be more fitting with the 1960's, but the fact is, most people have widescreen TVs these days, and it would require more time to re-arrange on-screen figures to fit the 4:3 format. In this day and age, I imagine people would do what they did with the South Park movie. If they had to do 4:3 as WELL as 16:9, they would animate it once digitally, and then re-do it, with the figures or important elements on screen rearranged to fit the 4:3 format, as mentioned above. But these guys likely didn't have the time to do so. And anyway, widescreen is more common today, anyway, and they might have wanted more money to re-arrange everything to another format. I would prefer 4:3 myself, as it DOES fit better with the age of the programmes, but sadly, they probably won't do that. Yes, SHADA was 4:3, but they had some existing elements that were already filmed. I guess people would find it weird to switch from one aspect ratio to another, and we were already shifting between animation and live action for that one anyway.

Ah great news. Though it does indicate to me that the slim hope that PM might have discovered at least one episode somewhere like Power is unlikely.
Though the Beeb do seem to want to milk as much as they can out of customers in as many formats as possible, so can hang on there might still be hope.

My thoughts exactly Sean.Phillip Morris's potential recoveries have no bearing on what is a new, creative and potentially lucrative revenue stream. The fans should be happy. However, what happens to the releases subsequently I don't care about but at the moment I'm grateful and happy!

As much as I look forward to the new Macra, it reinforces that nothing recovered is on the way in the current time frame.

As much as I look forward to the new Macra, it reinforces that nothing recovered is on the way in the current time frame. Absolutely, the Power animation fairly conclusively demonstrated that the powers-that-be had concluded that there were no prints to recover - and this says the same about Macra. It looks like the Philip Morris search has now become a dry well, which isn’t that surprising as it’s now five years since Enemy and Web were recovered and he first established that they actually existed in late 2011 - seven years ago. There’s been more than enough time for him to fight through any red tape and get into places to check, hopefully he’ll be forthcoming as to where he’s actually been at MBW next week. I think all we can possibly hope for now are episodes in private collections. Web 3 is out there somewhere and it seems that another one or two are now known about. Animations tell us what’s known to not be out there. There could still be MEs in private collections - and it can never be proven that there aren’t - but complete stories are increasingly unlikely. Snowmen and Wheel could have been in Nigeria but PM must have thoroughly checked there by now. I think there’s a possibility of getting the number missing down to about 90 - but much lower looks like a pipe dream now.

While the search is probably over (at least the main body of the search, no doubt there's other places he can work his magic) we still know relatively little of the results of his search. I would optimistically remind people that he'll be keeping quiet on any Who finds until he's confident things are settled and safe so Auntie Beeb won't have a clue until potentially quite late on. Just don't jump to any assumptions one way or the other.

Some know where he’s been and what he’s found. The years he’s been at it suggest that he could well have visited everywhere that ever broadcast or considered broadcasting Dr Who.

The years he’s been at it suggest that he could well have visited everywhere that ever broadcast or considered broadcasting Dr Who. No indication that he's toured CBC North stations that were bicycled copies of Marco Polo after the main CBC run in 1965. Whether that indicates he knows they'd not be found, or he doesn't need to find it, I don't know. Or perhaps he doesn't like cycling on ice roads ...

We don’t know exactly where he’s been, but he’s been at it for a long time. Perhaps he’ll tell us next week.
