While the search is probably over (at least the main body of the search, no doubt there's other places he can work his magic) we still know relatively little of the results of his search. I would optimistically remind people that he'll be keeping quiet on any Who finds until he's confident things are settled and safe so Auntie Beeb won't have a clue until potentially quite late on. Just don't jump to any assumptions one way or the other.
Some know where he’s been and what he’s found. The years he’s been at it suggest that he could well have visited everywhere that ever broadcast or considered broadcasting Dr Who.
I'm sure some people do know, I'm also fairly certain after what happened the last time he'll be very keen to keep BBC Studios the hell away from his recovery efforts until it's absolutely necessary. Perhaps that's how he funds his operations... he gets paid a pound every time a BBC intern asks him "Any Daleks?"

These conspiracies don’t hold water. The only people who can exploit any recoveries commercially are Auntie.

So he's feeding them all of his confidential dealings with foreign broadcasters so they can secretly plot out the future of the Doctor Who DVD range? I know which one is the ridiculous conspiracy here.
He's holding his findings back until the end of his search, that's what we've been informed time and again. Claiming the BBC are in on it is way into tin foil hat territory.

Rubbish. It’s clear that that he’s exhausted - or very nearly exhausted - the possibilities for more Dr Who. It’s now something like SEVEN years since he first got into the store at Jos and saw Enemy and Web, and he’d started looking a while before that. He’s now had time to personally check everywhere that showed Marco Polo - even places like Australia and New Zealand. I’ll repeat, only Auntie can “exploit” any recoveries commercially and two 1968 Morecambe and Wise’s are being shown over Christmas. They’ve been through cleaning, TLC, Colour Recovery, Vidfire, etc which must have taken a little while. Next Saturday at MBW he’s showing things he’s found like Basil Brush and M&W. There’s been no mention of Dr Who so, until the full programme is available, we won’t know one way or another. Do you really think that an animation of all four episodes of Macra would be commissioned if he’d found an episode or two?

Considering he’s been on the One Show and they’re showing two 1968 M&Ws he recovered at Christmas it’s absolutely crystal clear that he completely shuns all possible contact with Auntie. <—- Sarcasm, for those who can’t recognise it.

I wish I could get excited by these animations but I just can't. I never did like animations or cartoons, even as a kid. They don't hold a candle to the originals for me, and I wish I saw it differently.
Pleased for all of you who are excited by this, though.

I’d rather have the originals, animations are fine to fill In the gaps.

I mean about any DW finds. Not non-DW finds. It would be the same people doing the Vidfire, Colour Recovery, sound restoration, etc, etc. If he recovered a Dr Who ME the first people he’d get onto would be the RT - that’s what seems to have happened with Enemy and Web. Just looking at how long he’s been looking it’s clear, as I’ve previously outlined, that there can’t be many, if any, places that still need checking. He discovered a previously unknown system in Nigeria which led him to Jos. In Sierra Leone he was pointed in the direction of the cinema where he found the M&Ws. In a lot of places the broadcasters have moved buildings as they’ve changed from B&W to colour to digital, added more channels, etc, etc. Auntie even left TV Centre. When that sort of thing happens a lot of stuff gets binned or, maybe, “rescued” so it’s possible that an odd episode might have survived, but that’s it. It’s time to stop coming up with weird and wonderful theories to try and explain why PM would keep MEs in his sock draw. Personally I’m very happy with a couple of M&Ws, that’s potentially as good as DW imho. We should know for certain next Saturday. On the basis that the search must now be over there’s no reason, if there ever was, for MEs to be held back. If, hypothetically, he’s recovered an orphan episode - and this is pure speculation - it could be shown.

The good thing is that dvd probably will include a telesnap recon as an extra, the animation is a secondary thing...

If he had found an episode or two and presented them to the BBC before the animation process had gotten under way, absolutely. But the fundamental problem with that is we have no evidence whatsoever that he showed anything to the BBC in that time. If he had found material and returned it to the BBC, why are we only hearing about it now? Surely there would have been something returned in the five year period?
Rather simply put, he went radio silent for five years and has now presented the BBC with at the very least some of the results of his search (if not all of it). However, with the limited information we hold today he did this in 2018, not 2017 or earlier (which would be necessary to interfere with The Macra Terror animation). If in future we get information that contradicts that then so be it, but at the moment we have no evidence of a conspiracy so must take it at face value, especially when ignoring it appears to contradict what we know otherwise.

Why not go with the obvious answer? Firstly, if he’d found any DW MEs why would he hold onto them? This a question I’ve been asking for years, and the only reasons given are ad hoc explanations to try and explain why we don’t know about them. At the risk of sounding like a stuck gramophone record there’s absolutely nothing in it for him as he’s not the copyright holder. As a fan he’d, presumably, want to see the episode(s) and there are people like Paul Vanezis, Mark Ayres, etc to do the work and storage facilities at the BBC to keep the print(s) in. All of that has a cost, let Auntie foot the bill. There’s no chance of a finders fee, etc, etc. The answer, unless he pulls a rabbit out of the hat next Saturday, is that he hasn’t found any more DW since Enemy and Web. That’s not entirely surprising as Enemy and Web only survivied because they’d been sat on a shelf in an out of the way place in a third world country for forty five years - a pretty rare combination of circumstances.
