"Glam Rock At The BBC" (which I mentioned earlier in this thread as it has the Sweet performance where Brian Connolly is wearing an oversized Iron Cross) is being repeated on Friday 12 January. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b094mcwn

The Sweet performing Blockbuster was also cut because Steve Priest wore a black armband with a Swastika on it. Therefore there is definately no chance of seeing their 1st February 1973 (black and White) performance where lead singer Brian Connolly wore a big Nazi German cross around his neck. I think the politically correct snowflakes at the BBC are going over the top now, German TV have no problem broadcasting these episodes. It could have something to do with the neo nazi terrorist organisations active in the UK at the moment? Remember, they quite recently assassinated poor old Jo Cox MP, who was a young mother of two, amongst several other recent victims and were also plotting to murder Rosie Cooper, also a Labour MP, but were luckily stopped. Perhaps those 'politically correct snowflakes' don't want to normalise Nazi symbols by showing them on television outside of their proper context of... ooh, I don't know.... concentration camps that were used to exterminate millions of Jews, Romanies, Gays, Socialists and anyone else 'the master race' didn't like the look of. Could be something to do with that? Bloody snowflakes though! Nothing wrong with trivialising the holocaust at all is there............

Same goes for people with relatives who died in the holocaust being snowflakes. I won't say anything too strong as I know how easily triggered right wing reactionaries are when it comes to things close to their hearts like paedophilia and eugenics.

Some good points well made Greg, but in this particular case Steve Priest was obviously taking the piss out of the whole Nazi thing anyway, as did Spike Milligan on numerous occasions (including this one) : . It's clearly intended a joke and should be taken as such.

Murdered, please, not assassinated. I think you'll find Greg is correct when he says Jo Cox was assassinated. It was certainly politically motivated.

Well said Peter, and I'm alarmed at how some individuals on this board are sweepingly putting words into peoples' mouths and casting wicked aspersions onto anyone who wants to discuss matters with a level head...i.e. anyone who doesn't necessarily make a shocked hand and eyebrow gesture at the precise times Fiona Bruce tells us to.

Please feel free to link to evidence of Antifa assassinating UK MPs. Thanks.

Like the murderer on Westminster Bridge, has Joe Cox's murderer even been proved of belonging to anything?..other than being a crazed fruitcake who just got out of bed the wrong side that day and wanted to blame someone for his own failings.Because it begs the question of why Jo Cox would be a prime target of a far right group anyway- she was not a mouthy MP just quietly trying to do a caring and decent job for her town. has Joe Cox's murderer even been proved of belonging to anything? Yes. The murderer was a known member of Britain first and involved in their 'actions' against mosques and racist campaigns. He was also a member of other far right/ neo nazi groups, including one now banned as a terrorist group. In fact, witnesses state that he repeatedly shouted 'Britain first' as he stabbed Jo Cox to death. Additionally, there is no evidence of mental health problems from the assessments that have been made public. Do some research if you don't believe me.

All this political talk on a music forum makes me think it's about time the BBC re-ran the 'Rock and Roll Years' and produce some new episodes from where the last series finished. So, that's 1989 nearly 30 years ago! Surely, it's worth airing on BBC Four at least.
According to the BBC website, an episode was last shown in 2016 on BBC Parliament, I did not know that!
