Plus, decent quality audio is available of all missing episodes.

Don't know how accurate this is, but some scribbled notes I have here say:
"Alf's Dilemma" has a chunk missing. Wikipedia adds, "Some sources state that the episode is an edited version, others that it was just a short episode." So I dunno.
"The Puppy" has either 90 seconds or 6 mins existing, depending on who you believe.
"Aunt Maud" is missing first few minutes.
The 1996 Kaleidoscope Guide says, "The last 1 1/2 minutes of Aunt Maud and The Puppy exists on HF." (HF is their code for 1/2-inch tape).
Also two proper colour clips exist from the Election 70 special (aside from all but the first 5 mins on 1/2-inch).

Does anything one think Network would tackle such a project? The BBC most certainly won't and people like Simply Media shouldn't be let anywhere near such precious TV. All the 60s episodes, clips, audios of missing episodes, plus extras, talk about a winning seller I would have thought?

The Missing Episodes Index on the main page has already been updated following the discovery of Intolerance. It also notes the orphaned clips from the Late Night Line Up show: Sex Before Marriage (the decorating clip) A Wapping Mythology (Duke of Windsor picture) Aunt Maud (the God/pestilence clip) According to Wikipedia, there is a sequence existing from The Bulldog Breed but the source is not mentioned. A DVD collection of the 60's material would contain 11 episodes. A far better state of affairs now compared with the mid 90's when I believe only A House with Love In It and The Blood Donor existed in the archives. When Classic British TV was written those were the only full episodes, plus 10 minutes of Intolerance along with the Late Night Lineup clips.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of them are found eventually. Maybe the DVD people are waiting to see what else turns up?

I think it's more likely that the 1970s colour sets they released don't seem to have sold particularly well (even by Network's standards, which seem quite modest) and they gave up after the first two series (two more remain unreleased). I found "In Sickness" generally better that the 1970s colour ones myself - I thought the show went downhill for the 1970s ones.

I would be surprised if the sales of the DVDs were poor enough to cancel plans for the other two series to be released. Would they really have been less than the likes of Keep It In the Family or You're Only Young Twice which have both now be issued complete(5 and 4 series respectively)? My understanding is that rights issues prevented any further releases.

Welcome to the forum Jack. This confirms that approximately the last 6 minutes of The Puppy remains and Aunt Maud is missing the first couple of minutes. Incidentally, the poster has advised that The Phone will be uploaded over the next few days. Also, State Visit is also on You Tube in good quality: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMamLbD8iAc

"so, State Visit is also on You Tube in good quality: www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMamLbD8iAc" From my experience nothing on YouTube is in 'good quality.' It beggars belief how YouTube hosts so much video - they must have banks of thousands of hard-drives whatever. Goodness knows how they do back-ups. However when I digitised some lost eps. for YouTube a few years ago the results were fairly hi-def. But during uploading YouTube changed the 'scanning' from horizontal to vertical and the results were awful. And YouTube uses compression both for the video and audio. I think YouTube is catering for smart phones rather than decent sized computer screens. I have a 17" screen om my Toshiba Qosmio and YouTube clips are unwatchable - pixelation and out of sync. audio. I have to reduce the size of the playing window of VLC to quarter the size of the screen to even watch a YouTube clip.

This is why i pretty much ignore post where people claim to have found something missing on Youtube. 90% of the time it already exist and the quality is just to poor for a dvd/rebroadcast

What about the audio recording covering the first minutes that are missing from the home video?
