Good choice Paul looking at that list makes me yearn for a clip of Chinatown if only somewhere there was a surviving performance.

OT but does any BBC footage of Dear Elaine by Roy Wood exist. Aside from the TOTP appearances wasn't it shown on Record Breakers, something to do with a record attempt playing multiple instruments? I could easily be wrong, it's a long time ago and the memory cheats?

It would be great if BBC4 could reshow them all, I remember the Birmingham Beat one was shown in the last few years.

Roy played various instruments during the Oh What A Shame performance on fix it, could that be the show you were thinking of?

Great idea about a Roy Wood at the BBC, Paul.. if the remit was extended to "..and Beyond" (as it was for the Bee Gees), this clip of "Tonight" from Whittaker's World Of Music" would be a great inclusion:
And btw, I'm pretty certain that there was a short clip of ELO's "10538 Overture" from TOTP (Jeff Lyne with eyepatch, playing a Les Paul and kicking balloons around) included in the "Rock Family Trees : Birmingham Beat" programme but I'd have to dig out the tape of it!

Why no 10cc at the BBC?
Their number ones are all extant, there's enough stuff to fill a half hour slot... or a 10cc and beyond or somefink?
