Digressing slightly from the Psychedelic Rock At The BBC thread, does anyone know why the Bee Gees were afforded the extra scope that the "..And Beyond" caveat gave for additional footage from other TV sources? As far as I'm aware, their showcase is the only instance of the expanded parameters. Also, can anyone suggest or think of any other artists that might be candidates for the "At The BBC" slot?

I'm no expert on surviving Bee Gees footage, but could it have been cos of a dearth of surviving BBC performances of key hits?

Adam is probably correct; after all what other reason could there have been?
On the basis that any (future) "At the BBC" was to follow the Bees Gees ("And Beyond") format, then I would go back to the beginning and any re-do any previous ("At the BBC") and make them all ("And Beyond")
Whom would I like to see? Well what about last night's show for instance how about ("Psychedelia at the BBC And Beyond") also The Beatles,Pink Floyd,Beach Boys,The Kinks,David Bowie,Abba,The Who,Jimi Hendrix,The Doors,PIL,T.Rex,Deep Purple,Led Zeppelin,Black Sabbath,The Smiths,Status Quo,Sex Pistols, and probably more than I can't think of just now.

Here's a few suggestions, hopefully Shakin' Stevens at the BBC isn't next though if my memory serves me well, he seemed to be on TOTP every other week.
Glam Rock at the BBC Two Tone at the BBC New Wave at the BBC Madness at the BBC The Jam / Weller at the BBC The Police / Sting at the BBC Trevor Horn productions at the BBC Oasis at the BBC Blur at the BBC Manic Street Preachers at the BBC

Great suggestions there from both William and Sal! I'm surprised that there hasn't been a "Beatles At The BBC" compilation although we had a Lennon & McCartney themed BBC show. Likewise no Glam Rock comp as yet. (Wonder if Gary Glitter would be included?!) Maybe we could also have something like "1970 At The BBC". with a selection of music clips from that particular year (and other years, naturally), especially now that a fair few rare performances from TOTP 1970 have turned up on European music shows during the past 12 months.

Bonzos at the BBC.
There's JUST enough footage for a show, and if you include Vivian and Neil solo, definitely enough.
And I should research it.
RING ME BBC!

If "and beyond" is applied there's all the DNAYS footage, but the chances of an ITV / BBC collaboration is nil I would say, even though they just won a joint bid for the 6 Nations Rugby,

Depeche Mode at the BBC. There should be plenty with DM, Yazoo, Erasure.
Or better still Mute at the BBC. Is there any Fad Gadget content in the archives?

There's a near-complete gig from December (?) 1981 which was Vince's last gig with DM that hasn't been broadcast since it was first shown. There's some very rough vhs dubs around and it's probably on youtube. The BBC could start there. I also know that Vince has/had home movie footage of the 1982 Yazoo tour: I recently purchased 3 photos from the Hacienda gig they did and one of them is of Vince filming the audience/venue.
Aside from TOTP there's some Saturday morning TV appearances and Cheggers Plays Pop content.

A Thin Lizzy at the BBC to go with the superb BBC4 documentary would've been nice.

Shouldn't be too hard to do "Sweet at the BBC", surely?
