It looks like she's standing *very* close to a CRT, so it's not as large as you think - still quite large for 1963/64 but not impossible. Looks more like a back projection Eidophor (oil film video projector to me) see here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eidophor

Thanks for the responses Brian and Dan - and apologies to everyone for this jaunt off-topic. The shot showing her feet at the start of the clip suggests to me she's standing about three feet in front of the screen; I think the camera's actually making the screen look smaller than it is, rather than larger. There is another clip where the three guitarists of Les Guitares stand side-by-side, Shadows-style, a similar distance in front of the screen - and the screen is wider than they are. I can't find that on YouTube; maybe I'll post it later. Any thoughts on how the Beatles clip is being shown behind the dancing crowd in the guitar break of Can't Buy Me Love? Similar thing? Assuredly, he will do his utmost to make sure this historic footage is copied, restored and preserved. It would be interesting to see just how much detail there is in the film - and whether the top of the TV picture is actually there. The big crease in the projection screen used for the YouTube clip suggests the conditions in which that was made were very rough and ready.

It was caught on a phone and projected on to a wall in lieu of a projector screen apparently.... So it WILL be in better condition.
