Dick Fiddy's 5-6 figured thousands of cans of film ?
As far as I am currently aware, PM has handed over the sum total of 14 cans of film (11DW, 2 SAN, 1MW). A far cry from Dick Fiddy's estimated 5-6 figured thousands of cans recovered, so what has happened to all of these ?
So PM's winks, smiles, expect the unexpected, blah blah blah has so far turned to nothing it seems. Talk about getting people's' hopes up.
The only thing with less odds than more missing DW turning up now is the Greek Govt finally finding the money to excavate a mound @ Amphipolis that they've known about for at least the last 50 years, and said mound housing the remains of Alexander the Great AND his mother. Oh, it's only one of them in there, darn, there goes any hope of 97 getting to 96 or less then.
Maybe said tomb was plundered in antiquity by the Romans looking for missing eps, and the circular hole in the mosaic in the 2nd room was actually caused by The Master's "column tardis" when he went back hoping to find a few as well.

Is it a surprise that 5-6000 cans only yields a dozen or so cans of interest?
CBC had 20,000 cans that they transferred to the National Archives, and I don't think we've even found a dozen things of interest in there. Most are (not surprisingly) local, and the foreign stuff that have mostly been preserved are documentaries - or the real high-brow stuff that BBC never tossed in the first place. Though if someone is interested in 1960s episodes of Panorama, there may be a dozen or so there ...

When someone tells me that he's only bought 13 lottery tickets in his life, and that 11 were jackpots, with the other 2 just £1,000,000...I think what a very lucky person that man is.

Is it a surprise that 5-6000 cans only yields a dozen or so cans of interest? It wasn't 5-6k cans, according to DF it was cans that were into 5-6 figures, nearer 6 iirc.
