Buddy Holly on Sunday Night at the London Palladium
I have been hoping that the person who may hold a recording of this would get in touch with me after John Preston passed on my e-mail details many months back. I wonder if anyone (John?) who is in contact with this person could pass on my e-mail again (dick.fiddy@bfi.org.uk) or even my direct line phone number 020-7815-1398

Perhaps the moderators could permanently post this thread at the top of the page so that if the person in question comes on here, they won't miss it if it's moved a long way down? It's an important request and may conceivably recover an important piece of TV...

Hello Mr Fiddy, Sorry I have not contacted you (all) for a while, just got back from Hols..as stated before I have left your E-mail address, and also your phone no, Rodger (Brother) has assured me he will inform you at a later date, but after seeing the `Going ons` on this site, it seems to have put him off a bit, all I can say the footage IS there and safe, I also think there is other footage of `Juke box Jury`but not to sure as I only had very little time to study the items, I hope that is some help to you.

I think John has raised an interesting point in that the person with this Buddy Holly footage has been "put off" by the "goings on" on this site.
I love this site - I'm just a fan of archive TV - I've never found anything or whatever, but on my many visits here I cannot help but notice that sometimes there is an elitist attitude on display. I can't remember who it was but there was a very sasrcastic dismissal of this entire Buddy Holly story - had I been the man with this footage, I would have been angered and insulted by it.
The fact is, this film collectind world isn't an exclusive one. Like in Astronomy, "amateurs" can contribute much research and help, but I have seen a few cases before get sneered and laughed at in this forum that is pretty shameful.
I know and accept that there are some sad cranks out there who take pleasure in leading us on false paths. I genuinely do believe this Buddy Holly fan has this rare footage. Of course we would all love to see it but I think a little more tolerance and respect would help in this situation.
