Always in broadcast order for books and DVD, with the exception of some of the McCoy era which I put in production order as there are some slight continuity errors if they go in bhe broadcast order. More from the point of the DVDs, with that one. But that's just my anality! Currently my books are in storage so they are probably random!

Broadcast order!
But as a slightly odd child I used to like re-ordering them into number order.
In fact I remember writing to the Longleat shop just to ask them what number The Crusaders was as I had an older edition.

My first was 'Day of the Daleks' back then also. I only had 30p on me at the time and it was the first one the assistant picked up that was for sale at that price. Ah, happy memories! As it happens, I've got a load of duplicates after updating my collection a while back, which I'm happy to give away if anyone wants them. I do too. I was going to suggest we start a DW book buy/sell/swap FB group. Anyone interested?? Yep - I've got a handful of spares too. Already offered them to Will off list and he took a couple from me. Happy to list what I have if anyone's interested. Only after a couple of quid for each one, nothing eye watering! Would rather they went to fellow Who fans than down the charity shop / up on Ebay.

Coincidentally Planet of the Spiders is one I still need, and it's the spider/crystal version I want. But with a numbered spine! The big question is - will you order them on your bookshelf in broadcast order or Target number order? Funny you should mention this, I did have them in broadcast order until a few years ago when, on a whim, I reorganised them into number order. Virgin and BBC Books are in publication order as well now - before I mixed everything together so they were chronologically correct. And Missing Adventures / Past Doctor Adventures are separate in publication order too now. Now it's: Targets (number order) - Target Misc (Nightmare Fair, K9 & Company etc) - New Adventures - Missing Adventures - Eighth Doctor Books - Past Doctor Adventures - 50th Anniversary Reprints - Hardcovers (Shada, Silent Stars, etc)

Some miscellaneous memories on the subject of Doctor Who novels:-
In the early 80's we had to do a "show and tell" at school, and I took in a few Doctor Who books as my subject.
Also I remember having a vivid nightmare when I was young, waking up at about 3am, too afraid to go back to sleep, so I switched on my bedside light and actually read The Green Death from cover to cover.
My memory may be playing tricks but I'm sure that I remember some of the first novels in the 70's had an offer in the back pages to send off for your own target badge (or something along those lines), and I got one myself. Anyone else remember this?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how much it costs to order from the Who Shop Online? Want to get copies of The Edge of Destruction and The Ultimate Foe from them!

Avoid The Who Shop. Whatever you're after, there are cheaper ways of getting it.

£25 is a good price for a mint condition Wheel though - from memory postage is charged at cost.

On my phone - so hopefully it will work. I set up a Facebook group called Scribes of Gum to start a group rolling. Do a search and ask to join. I will add. There's also a bit of interest from a few other Dr Who groups - so will post the name around. I'm rather busy at work but I have quite a bit I'm looking to sell or swap. Mainly 8th Doc - BBC - though I have a few excess Targets.

Anyone else remember this? Your memory is good. There was a cut-out section at the back of the Target books that got you a free Target badge and entry into the Target draw that took place twice a year (I never did win anything!). The blurp encouraged you to send off for the badge which "pinned to your blazer-lapel or jumper will excite the interest and comment of all your friends!". I got mine with Doctor Who and the Cybermen @1974.
