Not from "Tomorrow's World", in fact from "Towards Tomorrow" - and in fact this material was known about before. However (see also posting on Restoration Team site), a clip has also come to light from "Out of the Unknown: Random Quest" tx 11/2/69 - it shows Keith Barron and stuntwoman Roberta Gibbs, and is part of an item about the latter.

Thanks for clearing that up, Andrew. The thread on the RT is a little confusing (all the facts spread between many other posts).
The Liar! clips are news to me though (although I see they are already listed at Missing Episodes).

The Liar! clips are news to me though (although I see they are already listed at Missing Episodes). Has anyone ever contacted the Issac Asimov estate to find out if The Good Doctor ever recieved copies of his work adapted for British television? I would assume he would have wanted to see how his stories were adapted for tv. And since he lived in the US, it would've been hard for him to see them, unless he traveled to the UK to view them.

I would assume he would have wanted to see how his stories were adapted for tv. He certainly did. In the Kaleidoscope OOTU book it mentions that Irene Shubik sent Asimov some photos from the episode ‘The Dead Past’ the day after it was first screened. He replied saying it made him long to see the show.

Hello Andrew I was very pleased to hear that something, however brief, had turned up from this production ( which has long been held as one of the real highlights of the series ). I'd be intrigued to know whether you could provide details of the clip, as I'm assuming it relates to a telecine sequence ( shot at Ealing ) which shows Keith Barron's character pursuing a woman down a flight of stairs. She trips on the stairwell and then tumbles down to the bottom. This seems to have been one clear point in the play where a stunt would have been required, with Roberta Gibbs standing in for Tracy Reed. Any further info gratefully received! Regards Colin

That is indeed the clip in question - I hadn't realised it was filmed, I was going from a VHS of the film recording of the edition of "Nationwide", by the time something has been through those generations it's harder to tell the source! Unfortunately there isn't any more than the second or two before the stunt and the stunt itself - and while the filmed interview with Roberta Gibbs exists on the original colour film, the OOTU clip was inserted from VT so is only preserved on f/r (but we're very lucky to have that as very few "Nationwide"s were recorded at all, until the 80s.

Many thanks Andrew for the prompt reply and for confirming the content of the clip. As you say, although it's tantalisingly brief it's still good to have at least *something* to represent the production in the archives!
If the surviving script is still a fair indication, the telecine sequence in its entirety was itself quite brief ; I gather that after the shot of the fall, the sequence had Barron's character rushing down the stairwell to see how badly injured the woman was, repeatedly calling her name. This then mixed through to VT studio material ( Barron's character recollecting this scene as a 'flashback' ).
Thanks again,
Regards, Colin
