DVDs out on Network.Prior to this,a lot of episodes were believed to be missing, while others were thought to have burnt-in (Dutch?) subtitles. www.youtube.com/watch?v=gA209VbX08U

The very unlikely smash hit of 1966. ..and a snapshot of a world now long gone. Lew Grade had plans for an international ITC version but Kathleen had had enough as she was over retirement age as it was.Obviously she didn't know she was going to live into her 90s LOL

I've just been watching the film 'Home and Away' again-yet another with Jack Warner and Kathleen Harrison. In it,Kathleen has the line "I shan't forget it; not if I live to be ninety!".Little did she know!

Just watched your Mrs Thursday link John-thanks. I have to say I did expect it to be a bit dated and creaky, but I was pleasantly surprised how good it was, everything was 'right on' the writing, acting and production. So its a purchase for me.

Kathleen was a true star, acting worthy of awards, Clive was okay shame about Emmerdale.

You had to revive the thread...I'm still debating getting the 2 sets in the Network sale!

It's a fun series to watch (I saw it at the time), with some episodes better than others. But I'm still waiting for series 3 to be released though, where they go on a sea cruise - come on, Network!

You had to revive the thread...I'm still debating getting the 2 sets in the Network sale! Its a poignant reminder that they could once write catchy dramas without resorting to murder, affairs, bitter arguments, violence etc and if you had come home from a bad day at work/school etc this type of drama provided an hour of whimsical, escapism and optimism. Incidently film from the cruise once turned up on Ebay a few years back.
