I thought at first glance that the 1969 Nigel Kneale play had been found!

Episodes are currently going through the BBFC.I chuckled at "mild comic violence".

Holy bait and switch, Batman! Just been catching up on the thread, glad there's support for the release in these parts. Looks like it's a good set, I just hope it'll be back on Amazon's shelves to buy before Christmas - some of us non-English types need it too!

I don't know how people feel about the set or if anyone here has got it. Obviously Amazon UK haven't made it available again, but the US set is region free so if you're Region B (or whatever) the Blu-Ray set will work. I got tired of waiting and bought a set there. The lack of European language soundtracks is a bummer but otherwise seems the same. The Ultraviolet digital copy was never going to work for me unless I engaged in anti-geoblocking jiggery pokery, and it's a lot of hassle. Still, those who bought it on Amazon UK are apparently getting refunds because it seems that feature isn't available as promised. The limited run BR set looks like being replaced with a standard one sans toys and suchlike: www.amazon.com/Batman-Complete-Television-Blu-ray-Various/dp/B00PVBCSNA/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1416547559&sr=8-9&keywords=batman+complete+series+blurayHowever, that appears to be region locked, so I don't know when or if there'll be a Region B release. I would think and hope so, but can't be sure. Would fit a bit nicer on the shelf, at least! No idea whether or if that set will have the missing minute of footage (an authoring error, I understand) claimed to be absent from the currently available set, or if WB/Amazon will issue a replacement disc for the error to compensate for those who bought it. If anyone knows more, please feel free to share the Bat-info!

Hello Paul. I've been following this site for a number of years but have not contributed because I felt I've had nothing worthwhile to say.
However, I've purchased the DVD edition of Batman from Amazon in the USA ( I live in the UK ) and can confirm that it is region 1 and that approximately one minute of footage is missing from the season 2 episode Marsha's Scheme Of Diamonds.
The audio and visual quality of these episodes are stunning nonetheless and you wouldn't miss a minute's worth of footage if you didn't know it was missing.
The missing footage is intact on the bootleg copies of the TV series that have circulated up to now.
The official release presents the episodes as originally broadcast, as opposed to the bootleg series, which are meant to come from the studio masters.
One of the members on the Batman 66 forum has given a plausible explantion which would account for a minutes worth of missing footage.
When the episode was broadcast, it was Thanksgiving Day 1966 and on that day weather conditions had severly affected peoples health in New York I think it was, according to what I read.
Given that this would have clearly been of news worthy priority, it's fair to imagine that the powers that be requested a scene to be omitted from the Batman episode broadcast.
The quality of the bootleg episodes are rather good.
If you are UK based, I'll be happy to send you a copy of said episode Paul.
If this is acceptable to you, please send me a PM.
Michael

Ok then. My way of doing things is to help people out, at no cost to them, nor do I expect things given back in return.
So it could not be perceived as a trade, by any understanding or interpretation of the word trade.
However, rules are rules and acquiesce I will.
Many thanks
Michael
