There have been rumours for awhile regarding the legal issues being cleaned up. Hopefully some nice extras!

I've heard there are lots of complications with the rights over the years.
Hopefully they will get Adam West & Burt Ward to contribute some extras, they spoke highly about making the series on the 1966 film DVD.

I'd be surprised if they haven't recorded commentaries.Strong rumour of announcement due at Comicon last November (?). The 'Batgirl' pilot would be nice, the promos/equal pay spots.'Legends of the Superheroes' www.imdb.com/title/tt0131675/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 had the two (and Frank Gorshin) reprising their roles in 1979.

LOL. I forgot about the Legends spin off. Probably one of the most bizarre shows I have ever forced myself to sit through!

I've only ever seen a thousandth-generation copy, but yes,it was pretty strange. And what a strange rogues-gallery! LOADS of people will have bought bootleg 'Batmans' but I don't doubt that sales will be phenomenal, with or without extras.

I wonder what the source will be? Can we hope for a blu-ray?

Super, but I hope I don't have to buy a ruddy Blu-ray to see it!

Good to see this one out finally! One of the last of the real iconic shows from that era still not on DVD. I didn't know there was a Batgirl pilot but I'd be interested in seeing it (it would have been better had a fourth series been made that went back to the original format, with Batgirl moved to her own show as she tended to clutter things up in the final run).
There should be quite a few options for interesting extras though and one thing I'd like to see again (if it exists) is the preamble they screened here before each show with West and Ward warning people not to try and imitate Batman. Another is an Adam West appearance on Hollywood Palace (in costume) and as himself singing a song! More more TV appearances at the time too.
