is it certain that the copies for this were destroyed? otherwise it seems the most likely of those 3 to be stolen.

You mean, say a T-R film print of Apollo 11? This was on my mind as well. The BBC do have an off monitor (home movie) excerpt of BBC news bulletin of it; plus I believe the NFA found excerpts of the transmission (mainly sound but assorted snippets).
As I said earlier I've not seen any ITN studio stuff - but the earlier list has those Peter Sissons links quoted as existing.
The only actual live transmission recordings I think I've seen are Apollo 8 (?) (mission to circle the moon) BBC, Patrick Moore guest; Apollo 13 (James Birke BBC again, VT); and a later one (Apollo 14 or 15 1971 - 72?) splashdown and Birke link (BBC; telercorded film print).

The ones i've seen are Apollo 10 (think it was this mission; b/w t/r with Cliff Michelmore presenting) and Apollo 12 (colour tape with James Burke and Patrick Moore).

i've also seen the Apollo 10 clip.it had the title on screen and then an introduction by Michelmore.it was used in a space doc some years back.I remember thinking it was odd that the one before the moon landing had been kept but not the moon landing itself.strange archive.
