Fair points everyone. Unfortunately David Threlfall can't point me any further to the sources of his detailed restoration list -
Mr. D. Threlfall says:
I have already stated that this information of missing episodes comes from a drawing together of rumours and details from this discussion site and the lists compiled from this discussion. Several other members of the site asked what the latest status was on the episode rumours and instead of people trawling through pages and pages of the discussion for rumours. I summarised the state of the rumours from this site and what I had read off this site.
If you took time to read these pages as I have done instead of haranguing me with pointless questions and offers of gifts then you will see this. I would suggest that you print out my original list and go through this Amazon discussion thread in detail and you will see that everything I have said in my statement has been gleaned from information off that discussion thread.
As the Master stated in Logopolis (4) ' I am merely reporting the state of affairs' And that is what I did when I compiled that summary.
I wish I hadn't bothered at all. As firstly I get mis-represented and my list reprinted on another site and then you allude that I am David Threlfall the actor from Shameless and then when I tell you that I am not you still don't believe me and then after my last post you believe I am now not the actor from Shameless but still think I know where missing material is and the source of it.
Good grief if all Doctor Who fans are like you Mr Review over 97 missing episodes of black and white television then you need to find something else to fill your boring and mundane lives. Clearly it is a shame that these episodes have been lost and the recovery efforts to date to bring the episode count down from 139 in late 1981 to 97 now is commendable. I will wait and see what happens with regard to whether any further episodes have been found.
BUT I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY SOURCE OF MISSING EPISODES EXCEPT FOR RUMOURS FROM THIS AMAZON DISCUSSION SITE AND DOCTOR WHO ARCHIVE SITE.

I did thank him for his co-operation -
Dear Mr D Threfall,
Thank you for your kind response to my queries/offers of gifts in return for insider information. When I read how precise your list of episodes rumoured to be undergoing restoration was I found it to be such a piece of fantasy. I thought I might as well join in with the spirit of such nonsense and pretend to assume that in order to have acquired such detailed insider knowledge you simply had to be the actor David Threlfall.
It is a great shame that further to this you are unable to provide me any further clues as to which fantasists came up with these details, it would be nice to expose the idiots who have being doing this since 2011. The sad fact is that well beyond the 50th anniversary these rumours will continue and people on these discussion boards and elsewhere will continue encouraging these rumours by condensing them into one big long laughable list.

It’s all very interesting; if you go on Amazon Discussion and produce a lengthy list of rumoured restoration jobs currently underway then that's fine, nothing insane about that. But when you invent an equally mad theory that the list had to have been compiled by an insider – namely the actor David Threlfall, it gets shot down straight away.
What a shame the entire missing episode rumour won't survive as long as this David Threlfall rubbish joke has - a mere three days. Incredibly the rumour of a huge haul of missing episodes rumour has now occupied nearly six long months. If only, like the David Threlfall thing it could have died straight away.
