I have a Phillips EL3558/15 tape recorder from 1967. It needs a new tape belt. I've tried Amazon, Ebay etc but no luck. Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I might be able to get this part and maybe other parts too for spares.
I realise this probably isn't the right place for this question ... but I thought I'd ask anyway as everyone is so helpful.

Hi, I've bought belts from CPC cpc.farnell.com/They do a selection of belts, often in packs with different sizes. Hope that helps.

Somebody on this forum will probably be able to help? Vintage electronicsIf the belt is just stretched then boiling it in hot water can help

Be extra careful, some belts may turn so sticky that it's nearly impossible to get the stains of the other parts. Or of your fingers.

I myself have an Akai machine (4000DS-MkII) and although I often look on at contemporary Philips machines on YouTube videos etc. with jealousy, I consider myself lucky because Akai machines seem generally to have lasted far better than Philips ones. The reason why I'm jealous of Philips owners is that their machines always looked a lot nicer - I don't particularly find Akai machines stylish to look at, or the controls particularly pleasing to operate. I've never heard of belt problems on Akais though. Or head problems, for that matter.
Seems one can't have everything (except head problems of one sort or another are unavoidable!)
