Something I've been wondering
What was the very last 16mm b&w telerecording made for foreign broadcast sells purposes?

The Time Warrior? I don't think Invasion of the Dinosaurs had all of it's episodes done.

Some sources mention that all of season 11 was telerecorded, but the last 2 stories never found a customer.
It that correct or has someone made a mistake somewhere?
One of Peter Haining's books & a DWM archive feature seem to state this.
Just to confuse things I've also read that Death To The Daleks was the last one to the telerecorded.

No, only The Time Warrior and Invasion of the Dinosaurs were telerecorded, as shown by the surviving card records. The other three weren't.
The confusion probably comes from the BBC Enterprises Doctor Who brochure that indicated that all five Season 11 stories would be available as telerecordings, but as the amount of interest in the b/w prints was evidently diminishing by that point, it was decided not to go ahead with the conversion of the remainder of Season 11 given that no one seemed interested in taking them.

Fascinating! I have wondered that in the back of my head for years. Too bad it didn't stretch to series 12, I'd have love the idea of a t/r of Robot or Ark in Space.
thanks!

The closest that you can get is if you watch on a television that enables you to turn the color off. It might be useful and satisfying when watching Colin Baker era stories also! LOL Telerecordings can be done in colour - for example, most of the episodes of "The Tomorrow People".

For most people in Australia Dr Who would have been monochrome up until 1977 or so. I haven't seen Terror of the Autons in colour yet - it almost seems wrong!

I thought colour TV started in Australia in March 1975? I'm fairly sure the 1974 VFL grand final was recorded onto (and still survives) colour VT. would also possibly explain the lack of interest in Dr Who made after late 1973 early 74 telerecorded/converted to BW. Might have taken a few years for the service to be available country-wide. I think some parts of the country are still awaiting the old analogue to full digital switch over at the moment.

Aren't colour telerecordings generally quite ropey? Don't they shift to blue or something?
Were there colour telerecordings for Doctor Who?

Yes, March 1 1975 was the offical day for full time colour transmssion. There were test colour transmissions leading up to this date.

Aren't colour telerecordings generally quite ropey? Don't they shift to blue or something? Were there colour telerecordings for Doctor Who? When filming a CRT screen (with film or VT) they were alway biased towards the blue and a knowing operator would compensate for that. In a scene involving monitors, the actors would see pinky screens but the camera would see the monitors as normal.
