Just wondering if the filmed version of Beyond the Fringe still exists. Did a number of google searches but couldn't find out if it still existed or not. If it does, seems odd that it's not released, as the scripts and a triple audio CD have.

Thought I'd add that I do realise the audio CD is a 1961 performance and not the audio of the 1964 BBC film version. Guess I'm waiting for Andrew Martin to reply

A full copy of the show was recovered by new york's museum of television last year - check out their site for details

The clips that are often seen come from the 1972 "Parkinson" edition featuring the BTF cast - but in turn they were sourced from America, according to the paperwork.

A DVD release in the long-term seems likely, i'd say (sooner rather than later hopefully though).

Wow, it's the full show, not the one hour version. Here's hoping it gets on shiny disc soon.

I was given to understand that there would be a DVD release of the show (lasting two hours) sometime this year. There was also the possibility of a showing at the NFT, again, sometime this year.
I hope so, anyway.

I have had the DVD on my shelf for months? There is only one BTF, right?

That is the one. I wasn't immediately 'convinced' though. Haven't even watched all of it yet. Perhaps my expectations were too high or too modern?
