There's a thread about this down here somewhere. Four series and most of series 3 is missing (I think - Kal guide not to hand).

Indeed, sorry, just found it! 1st (1965) all six exist 2nd (1965) all seven exist 3rd (1969/70) 1st of 5 exists (probably b/w) 4th (1970) all seven exist (as b/w trs) insert (1970) wiped All the inserts in the Forsyte "Big Night" exist, (probably 9). The above all from the 1995 Kal Guide. Thanks must go to Ian Beard, foe the above information. |

Re Mr.Doran's query about the car wash ep;yes it was put onto VHS but I can't remember if it was on the three eps tape or the British Comedy ledgends comp tape.
I think the ep is called "Breath in for speed,Breath out for staminah";the car wash is refered to as "the kinky car wash in Acton Vale",and can be seen to have been shot on location,but is not readily identifable.
That car wash ep has the distintion of being in b/w and having an ATV Coulor Production encap.

That's because the later episodes were made in colour (although only b/w copies seem to be all that exist of them now)!

Just to add something to this thread re The Worker;when I met Henry McGee in the late 1990's he told me that The Worker eps were "discovered" at Elstree studios sitting in cans on a shelf when-apparently-someone was showing prospective buyers around the studio complex.
I think this is how they survived;obviously they must have ended up at the main archive at Perivale.
I think the only time The Worker has been shown on TV since it's first run was in the 80s We Love TV quiz,Telly Addicts and the few docus about ATV/Charlie Drake,and also the 40 Years of ITV Laughter comps from 1995.
This is definatly one seris Network should release.
