you mean the 1968 children's programme? Yorkshire TV production on color film indicates a very good survival rate. stick my neck out and say its complete in the archives.

I ran across a 16mm film print of an episode from the series in dire condition and wanted to make sure it wasn't missing before I junked the print...

Yorkshire TV was perhaps the best in the UK for archiving its programmes?
BTW CONFESSION (YOU AND YOUR OLD GERMAN) 17 Jul 1970 is an error/ stray entry and absolutely nothing at all to do with TG's war

Yorkshire TV was perhaps the best in the UK for archiving its programmes? That award probably goes to Anglia TV which even holds most of it's b/w output on tape rather than as telerecordings. Yorkshire TV does hold a very complete archive (apart from a few examples including some entertainment programmes like "Junior Showtime" and "The Sky's the Limit", so do Thames, LWT and Granada - the latter going back at least to the early 60s

Yeah - as far as I can remember Granada hold a complete run of Coronation Street, don't they?
I'm not sure if Thames really deserves to be in that list though - they have loads of incomplete series in their archives...

Not many drama series or plays and soaps - studio or film, sitcoms, major documentaries, childrens drama (except "Ace of Wands") or "star entertainmnent shows" ( Tommy Cooper, Morecambe and Wise etc.) are missing at Thames. I.e. the sorts of major shows that would be kept - I don't expect them to save things like all games shows or Thames Help or even Magpie ..although their post Magpie kids magazines do survive (Blue Peter is very much an exception here)
What sort of programmes are you refering to?

Quite a few other things from Thames' first couple of years are gone too in the drama / comedy / light entertainment fields (leaving out other types of programming here, which have much bigger gaps). They improved from the early '70s onwards but other companies such as Yorkshire are definitely more complete from day one (in 1968) than Thames are.
