Perusal of the various missing episodes lists seems to indicate that there are relatively few gaps in the archives after 1974, and of course 1978 marked the establishment of a BBC archive (though of course this wouldn't help with ITV material). My question is: as far as U.K. television is concerned (BBC and ITV), what are the most notable post-1974 missing episodes?

I think there is loads of missing kids tv.
Think of all those irreplaceable guest appearances by pop bands gone west. Tiswas, Swap Shop, Cheggars plays pop, Runaround, Crackerjack etc.

I have a friend who used to be on Tiswas (late seventies/early eighties). She's not aware of anything missing though...

It's a lot quicker to list what survives of TISWAS that what doesn't! ... about 90% is either junked or not recorded in the first place .. especially the earlier years. |

I came across a guy who mentioned having taped himself as a contestant on the Adventure Game during November 1981 (when 50% of the episodes are missing). He still had the tape earlier this year, but never replied to my email asking for more details  Stuart |

Strictly speaking, 40% are missing - 2 shows out of five.
