Is the play Crest of a wave the one with Denholm Elliott as a copper?

Don't think he was a copper, Elliott was playing a former boy scout who goes to dinner with another former boy scout after a gap of many years. He tries to get a job from the Hendry character but is rebuffed because we learn from a series of flashbacks that the Elliott character had humiliated the Hendry character in the scouts. It was very highly praised at the time as I discovered when writing the book. I saw the play back in 1978 and can remember it but I was only 11 at the time. Haven't seen it since.

The Good news is the British Film Institute has an odd episode of The Informer. The bad news is that the BFI have been reluctant to let the Informer see the light of day for almost 50 years. Requests for it have been met with excuses and put offs like huge charges.

I think there are two existing. The Informer is near to the top of my "want to see" list. It's alleged to have been made in colour too but no one seems to have seen either of them to be able to say one way or the other!

Cheers Gabriel; Wonder what this play was it was around 1977 78 he was very sarcastic and witty in it saying things like gimme a cup of that flthy brown stuff will you unless im thinking of Leslie Philipps?
