NME JANUARY 14TH 1967
Let's face it, "Juke Box Jury" is not the same anymore. The experiment with the four disc jockeys has failed. The programme has become boring and monotonous, full of "in" jokes which the majority of viewers can't understand.
On top of all this, Jimmy Saville is a dead loss. He never votes a record a miss. Is he afraid he might annoy someone? What is the point of the programme if one member of the panel votes every single disc a hit-even Vera Lynn!
I hope the BBC goes back to uninformed but entertaining personalities instead of boring, jealous disc jockeys.EUNICE PREBBLE (London)

Just how rude can anybody get? While watching "Juke Box Jury" I was infuriated to see Pete Murray, Jimmy Saville and Simon Dee being so rude behind Alan Freeman's back.
Alan Freeman is the only one who talks any sense. As for Simon Dee, he is ignorant and conceited, so why does he think he has the right to take the mickey out of someone else? MRS.D.BEARD (Luton,Beds)
NME FEBRUARY 4TH 1967
I'm horrified to read that JBJ is to go on in it's present form for another two weeks. The *Alley Cat is right it is very unfunny and the way the djs seem so pleased with themselves is infuriating.
The fun in JBJ lies in the faces of the audience-often hilarious-and in the flare-ups that sometimes occurred when people like Katie Boyle took part. That made for good TV because it was unforced. If Pete Murray does his silly German accent once more I'll switch off for ever!PATRICIA LAWSON (London)
*Alley Cat was a weekly gossip column on the back page of the NME
