Someone asked about the Small Prophet Doctor Who sighting. I thought it was fairly well known. I got this from Dave Roe who sent me a letter in 1999. He is now retired from the business:
‘I met Max Adrian’s agent in the mid 60s. I was working at that time for Peter Garner in a company called Television Recordings who were based in Windmill Street. He also had a connection with the Delfont Brothers and had a projector with demo reels of tv shows for his clients. We used to see the coming and goings and the dealing that went on. Max hadn’t been in many films and a request came in from Merton Park through his agent asking to see an example of Max’s work. I recall Peter had a copy of a Dr Who appearance with Max as the King of Troy as well as a horror film. The tv clip was thought more representative and his agent viewed this reel on the premises and I remember sitting in on that one because our rep Alfie was on holiday. Can’t recall much about it apart from it starting with trumpets and Max going a bit ‘Up Pompeii’ in a crowd scene. It looked a bit like Ben-Hur made for a school play’

I forgot to add that Dave says that Max wasn't booked in the end because they considered him an insurance risk. He had very bad eyesight which started when he appeared in Candide and was almost blind by then. That's why he often looked in the wrong direction.

Interesting. I've never heard that before. I know it's a stupid thing to say, but it would be great if the episode did surface. It's a story mostly overlooked due to the lack of video footage (limited to a few brief clips) and telesnaps.

Any information about this company Television Recordings. Does it still exist? What did it actually do? Could be an interesting company to find out more about.
