I know this clip has been around for a couple of years at least but Could anyone confirm if this comes from Lift off or which show this comes from www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHNdQJPmTRUThis popped up in the search results when I searched for "Aysha Brough Lift off" Is it a clip from the show as Roy does have an "A" letter on his forehead - possibly as a nod to the host and he did produce tracks for her

It is from Russell Harty Plus. This version has been edited to remove the shot which Russell Harty and a guest can clearly be seen.

It's a fairly poor print judging from picture blobs etc... does this mean that show was preserved as a colour T/R or just this performance was taken from it, and processed to film for promotional use? Wouldn't had thought that was possible given it would had been LWT copyright but I guess anything could had happened.
I've been led to believe that not all those Russell Harty LWT shows have survived so is this performance from a missing or existing show?
BTW - was nice to hear Suggs namechecking Russell at the very end of the Madness "Farewell BBC TV Centre" gig - he seems to have been pretty much forgotten so was nice of Suggs to remember even if he was using his surname because it rhymed with "party!"

Russell Harty plus still exists in the archive. Here's the original footage from that archive. www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoJXYgVnQIQAs for the 'film' clip. I do know that a copy was sent to Australia for broadcast on the music program 'GTK'. It seems that a lot of UK sourced footage was converted to film for export. (perhaps it was cheaper, i don't know). So this could be the source of the poor quality clip.

It's obviously a sales version on colour t/r. It looks like a shot has been repeated to cover up the missing one. In case anyone is still wondering, the original performance exists on colour VT, with the shot of Wilfred Hyde White (another guest on the edition) intact. You see him sitting with Harty looking on during the middle of the song!

Russell Harty Pop Plus was the compilation show of pop performances.
The original show "Russell Harty" also still exists in the archive. It featured Wilfred Hyde-White & Carl Burnett as guests and had Wizzard performing "See My Baby Jive", "Angel Fingers" & "Do The Locomotive". The last two have never been seen since the original transmission.

This was what I thought - I knew about the compilation show but was under the impression that some performances came from editions that no longer existed. Good to know the Wizzard edition is safe and sound... would definitely love to see the other two songs, especially "Angel Fingers" since that would had been their current single.

The compilation 'Russel Harty Plus Pop' aired on 19/01/74. It's great the 'Russel Harty Plus' shows survive but the single most important one featuring Bowie singing the Jacques Brel song 'My Death' is one of only seven shows that are lost.

"Angel Fingers" from Russell Harty 05/08/1973 can be found on the CD/DVD set "Top 40 1965-1974", released by BR Music: www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail/-/art/Beste-Uit-Top-40-1965-1974/hnum/1054356The quality of this clip is much better than "See My Baby Jive". Incidentally, "See My Baby Jive" is included on another DVD released by BR Music called "Remember 70's Vol. 1". On this DVD you can also find a different version of "Angel Fingers", unfortunately no source is given in the booklet.

This one is a bit of a mystery. If these are both from the same 'Russell Harty' show then the performance of 'See My Baby Jive' is performed on a totally different stage to 'Angel Fingers'.
Also Roy has a large 'A' on his forehead in SMBJ and not in AF.
